I don't play Pokemon games, and I don't have any interest in either of these games. But Palfarm looks like somebody dropped their Pokemon toys all over somebody's backyard garden in a GTA game. Pokopia's art style is so much more appealing, despite how derivative it is.

Somebody take Splatoon away from me. For some inexplicable reason, I care what my series weapon power is on the one weapon I use, and overwhelmingly the game just causes me frustration. T_T

It's such a weird interaction when you say a thing online, somebody says "um actually," and then you calmly point out how they're mistaken and they block you. 🙃

I curse the devs of Splatoon for adding series weapon power to the game and giving me a metric by which to measure my self worth as a player.

I know it's early to be thinking about Splatoon 4, but here's one hope I have: It'd be cool if every band had their own version of Now or Never. So when a battle features music by a particular band, their version of Now or Never is used for the final minute of Turf War.

I'm flabbergasted that I was just blocked by somebody who got mad at me for voicing a concern that a game I'm interested in playing might not be able to sustain a player base. The internet is something else. 🙃

Kirby Air Riders is such a peculiar game, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, it's very similar to Air Ride, so people who liked the original will probably also like this. But on the other hand, it seems to make no attempt to broaden its audience.

Drag x Drive really does a number on my shoulders, but I don't care what people say: the game is fun, and I'm apparently squarely in the niche of people it appeals to.

So I think Drag x Drive is actually a lot of fun to play. And it also has a really high skill barrier. Like... you need a lot of dexterity to be any good at this game. o_o

Idea for #Blender3D (that may already exist): a way to blend between two shape keys using a brush, a little bit like the multires eraser in sculpt mode, but that interpolates between the two shape key vertex positions.

I still have very little confidence in the Zelda movie, but at least they got the ages of the characters in the right ballpark. Link being young (and younger than Zelda) is what I would actually want

Somehow I convinced myself that playing splatfest solo isn't miserable.

This was a fun project to work on! My contributions were Iwata-san and Koizumi-san. Switch was a pretty cool system and an awesome era to experience. Here's hoping Switch 2 can capture some of the same magic!

I desperately wish I had the bandwidth to make youtube videos about topics that I'm passionate about. I could talk at length about things like DK's new design or the differences in artistic intention between Zelda TWW and TWWHD, but I'm just so busy. 🫠

A friendly reminder: video games are just entertainment. If you don't get a Switch 2 on day 1, you'll be okay. It's not worth wasting energy getting mad about retail sites crashing.

I really hope third party gaming accessory companies jump on the joy-con mouse really quickly, because from what I'm hearing, the right joycon as a mouse is just not comfortable for long periods of time.

It makes me sad that future 3D artists will probably miss out on the joy and satisfaction of solving a good retopology puzzle, because they'll just use AI to retopologize everything.

It only just occurs to me now that the real reason Hulk needed to do the unsnap in Endgame is because they needed the gauntlet to be Thanos-sized so the macguffin that gets passed around was already ready to be worn without a fuss. The "it's mostly gamma" is just the narrative justification. =P

I wanna move to the universe where we get unnecessary animated remakes of beloved live action movies.

I have this funny gut feeling that we could actually get DK Jr. in the next Mario Kart, returning for the first time since the first Mario Kart. Like... I think the chance is 1%. Which is higher than the 0.01% chance that I normally give it.

This strengthens my resolve that the updated DK design was the right choice.

The updated Donkey Kong design is an improvement, and I’ll absolutely die on this hill.

I used to be all about overanalysis of gameplay and rampant speculation, but these days, I find myself being sort of annoyed by it. And it makes me a little sad that this is the emotion response I have to the deluge of videos picking apart the Switch 2 reveal trailer.

I'm seeing a lot of people who haven't yet realized that the Switch 2 Joy-Con Strap doesn't attach magnetically. In fact, the entire magnetic face of the Joy-Con is just fully exposed to the open air. The strap attaches with a simple mechanical latch.

Now that Nintendo is embracing the "classic mario" aesthetic, more YouTubers need to become familiar with the names Yoichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. Kotabe solidified the 2D Mario look in the late 80s and early 90s, and Nakaue has been carrying that torch in newer games.

I think it's a confluence of a few things. First, we should recognize that many of the ways that Mario's design has evolved over the decades were due to both technical limitations of early 3D as well as general design trends of the time. (1/?)

I'm so on board for the future of Mario's character designs to be all about adherence to classic Mario artwork, starting with Mario Wonder and now Mario Kart 10(?).

I'm not saying this is a reasonable expectation for Switch 2. But if a mouse-style IR sensor is part of the base feature set, and games actually support it as an input, who's to say this wouldn't be possible, even if only from third parties?

Okay, so with the idea that the Switch 2 Joycon can be used as a mouse, I feel like there might actually be a proper ergonomic "Nintendo Switch Pro Mouse" Like, the point of the Joycon is to be barely usable in a pinch, but the Pro Controller also exists.

I swear, if we can play a Splatoon game with mouse aiming, that'd be a game changer. I can't even express how much I want that.

Has anyone had any success in creating a hardware adapter for Switch that takes mouse and keyboard inputs and translates them into button and gyro inputs that the Switch sees as a regular Pro controller?

There's something very freeing about not having a disproportionately large following on a platform. Nice to not have to worry that posting at all will lead to dozens of people realizing they don't have a reason to follow you anymore. =P
