Well, that was intense. Excellent show at Soho place theatre - the first stage adaptation of Le Carré's The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. Bravo.

Yes I also enjoyed it very much. Definitely recommended. (And in a sample of one - my companion - you don’t need to have read the book.)

Although it’s fiction there’s a really interesting book from @aspyalone.bsky.social on this called “A spy alone” which explores exactly this topic in the modern age through the eyes of someone who recently retired from about 20 years inside of SIS and was very familiar with the topic in real life.

Just finished a couple. A Spy Alone - Charles Beaumont. Really good. A clever Le Carre style plot overlaid on the politically apathetic society that began to emerge in the twenty teens. I’ll absolutely read this again.

Quick update for the case officer.

Trump said today he doesn’t think a nuclear deal with Iran “is that necessary,” and said they’ll just go back to their world and essentially rebuild. Um. No deal means no monitoring nuclear sites and that Iran is more likely than not to resume a nuclear program. What was the point of bombing?
