It’s always a nervous time when a new book goes into the world. Grave won’t be out in the world until May, and Jay’s feedback is my first (outside of my editors!) so it means a hell of a lot. Thank you, Jay, for reading and posting!

This is horrendous. I’m writing in Scrivener at the moment, but everything moves to Word once it gets to editing stage. The book will move from editor to editor within the publishing house. How can we protect our work in these circumstances?

Completely agree. This is yet another vanity publishing scam. They hope that by throwing in the term ‘AI’ it will look important and innovative and different from every vanity publishing grift we’ve seen before. But it’s the same shit, different day.

So I got a message from someone a couple of weeks ago that I wasn’t 100% sure how to respond to, so I didn’t and now it’s been two weeks and every time I try to write a response I have a minor panic attack due to guilt about not responding earlier, so I still don’t respond and this is not sensible.
