I watched the England game this morning on an old fashioned video device as I didn't trust iPlayer to not have the title "relive England's win / loss" as the title of the game. The poor people who stayed up until 01:00 to see the game postponed by an hour.

Only the 2nd bottle opened of my Citra Gold - & then only 'cos I needed the US-05 yeast though. The acid malt used has really boosted the sinkability of this 100% Citra hopped beer. I forgot to put the Irish Moss in at the 20 min before end mark, so its hazy still.

I've opened only the second bottle of bretted, cherry wood smoked, crystal rye, red ale this evening.

#Homebrew #BrewDay over bar the washing up. 15 litres of wort at 20°C & with a gravity of 1.040. Good drinking strength beer.

Now *that's* a rolling boil. #BrewDay today is 44% RedX malt, 56% pale malt, Cascade hops in the boil, Cascade hops pellets in the fermenter & US-05 yeast. This is a beer for a camping event in four weeks time.

9.5 litres of all Citra hopped beer bottled with a gravity of 1.006. Next #brewday being scheduled by looking at the star charts & throwing the seaweed into the wind.

The planets have to align neatly for me to get a #brewday & last Saturday just happened to be one of those days. So most of last week was spent trying to keep the exothermic process of fermenting beer cool & I don't think it topped 22°C. It involved many ice blocks & wet tea towels though.

I visited last night & met with Buster - the current Head Brewer - & his team. They unveiled new beers with some fab artwork on the cans. Their new DDH Pale on keg is super fresh & brightly hoppy with Citra. The owner talked about being ahead of the plan with growing the brewery. Plus lots of beer.
