Information is still emerging about the federal agent killing of a civilian at 26th and Nicollet. My heart goes out to their family, friends, and loved ones, and to all of us. Whatever we learn, this has happened because we are under federal occupation.

Today’s killing of Minneapolis resident Renee Nicole Good is a tragedy. To her family, friends, neighbors, and loved ones I share my deepest condolences. This was also a stomach-turning act of violence against a legal observer by federal agents.

Yesterday, President Trump declared an influx of ICE agents being deployed to Minneapolis and Saint Paul specifically to target our Somali community. There were also reported ICE raids on individual households in South Minneapolis yesterday morning.
