Pretty much everybody, on my side of the Atlantic, is going on about which is the best way to confront Trump. My personal view, which I hope roughly coincides with Starmer's, is to do very little without heavy confrontation. Why?

After the end of WW2, there was the Reckoning when the remaining leaders of the 3rd Reich faced court for their conduct during there period in power. Some faced the ultimate penalty, others by their own hand and many more went to prison. I wonder whether that will happen eventually in the USA?

Could somebody explain to an aged person, in easy to understand language, why all 16 year olds will be considered intelligent enough to sensibly vote at the next UK general election but do still need protecting from the evils of the internet until they reach 18?

I read that Steve Bannon has said that "Maga can rule for 50 years....." I seem to recall reading about something similar for a political party being claimed in Nuremberg in the 1930s.

I see Badenoch seems to think that the "call an election" petition is somehow significant but in fact only shows how mathematically illiterate the Tories are! 13.8 million voted for right leaning parties in July but only 1 in 5 are stupid enough to sign such a silly petition.

I realise the right wing have limited cognitive ability but even the "Call a General Election" petition, now with over 2 million signatures, suggests that they are not even able to think rationally when faced with the certainty of a stable left wing government.

Mainly white pigeons, starlings and a couple of doves sharing my bird table in the evening sun, last Sunday. Think at one time there were eleven white pigeons. Never seen so many birds around the table so wonder whether they somehow knew that this cold snap was coming.
