I have not a single hard disk from 1995 that I could read with current machines, it is impossible. CDs in FAT whatever are still readable admittedly and wav format already exists back then I think. but for how long will it last? the CD is already on the edge to be thrown out.

CDs work only in 16bit/44kHz, you cannot use it to store audio files in high quality, and storing flac files or wmv in a computer readable file system again poses the question whether anyone will be still able to read these files in 30 ys. The basic question is that of the half life of IT norms.
