In tandem with the point on comics not being storyboards, they aren't story pitches/proof of concepts for a movie of tv show. Comics are their own medium and shouldn't be taken as anything else. Good thread btw

Regardless of where you stand on the validity of this, the difficulty finding a starting point with western comics is only a problem with the big two. Indie series of all sizes usually have clear cut starting points. Not to mention stand alone graphic novels and mini series that collect as 1 book

Been reading Y: The Last Man and it is interesting because the book is pretty ahead in many ways politically, but still feels so 2003 in other ways.

Started reworking this. First ten pages already looking much better. First draft I hand wrote, so typing it up for the second I am very aware of what I am keeping and changing. If I typed it originally, knowing myself, I would have been less focused on my rewrites, just kind of skimming it.

It took me almost the entire year to do it, but I completed my first narrative writing project in years. 132 pages total. It sucks. But first drafts always do, and now that I have it down I can work to make it better.

Just finished up my last day of work at my job. Sadly my position had to be dissolved going into the new year. Restructuring due to tariffs to focus on best sellers over new releases, and that means no work for a product lister.
