Excited to announce that my book, REVOLUTION IN REDLINE, is finally out! I compile key docs leading to the Founding, then present the Founding Docs in "redline," visually tracking the drafters' edits to show how the text evolved. (The Founders didn't start from scratch, and they disagreed often.)1/6

My husband and I had several conversations about this in the last few weeks, particularly since he is a resident where same-sex marriage would remain recognized (assuming states would be able to “decide”) and I am one where it likely would not be recognized. It will get messy.

Another FAR tip that some candidates might appreciate: Many candidates are on the law hiring market for more than one cycle before they land. The first year I tried, I did not position myself correctly for getting a tenure-track position. Especially if you don't have mentorship, it can take time.

Happy FAR distribution day! If you are a candidate, don't be discouraged if you don't get a call tomorrow or next week. It takes time to read materials and even more for the committee to find time when everyone can meet. Some schools do scholarship reviews before making calls.

I'm excited about my fall schedule! I'm headed to Chicago to speak to the IL bar, speaking with the faculties at Miami, Missouri, Quinnipiac, and Akron, heading to Kansas for the Central States conference, and co-organizing the Oklahoma Law Review symposium. Look forward to seeing folks!

Make sure to talk to your mentors at your school as well—different institutions have different policies and norms. Write it all down!

Given that Oklahoma Law is not hiring on the entry-level, (we are searching for a Con Law chair), feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Some advice: (1) Paint a picture of who you are as a scholar and teacher. Flexibility is welcome, but don't come off as not knowing what you want.🧵
