It’s been almost three decades since I tested people’s drugs at parties. How is this still being discussed? Why can’t we just have a regulated drug market? None of this would be needed. Imagine going to a bar and needing to test your drink to determine if it is actually alcohol?

Excellent article! We are going backwards in so many ways all due to disinformation created by so many. Nobody seems able to fact check anymore. It doesn’t matter if it’s about the war on PWUD, climate change or immigration. Everything in this article is factual.

For so many years we were moving forward with recognizing drug users have rights but all that work appears to be erased. Drug users (which includes 90-99% of the world population) deserve rights like any other human.

If long-term consumption caused brain damage I would be in a long-term care facility already!

This is why I left healthcare and I wasn’t responding to ODs. In fact, I’ve never had to reverse an OD. Instead I was asked the impossible! I need housing, food, my medications. None of them could be provided! Moral injury 150%.

I find this article wild in that I was helping people test their drugs over 2 decades ago. People were ecstatic that they could test their ecstasy. We always had line-ups and had to make our own testing kits because we couldn’t import as they were considered drug paraphernalia and were illegal!

This is an excellent article about mental health and being admitted to a psychiatric ward. I too was admitted to hospital after a suicide attempt. I’ve had police show up at my door wanting to take me to the hospital. 15 years later, I was working in the acute psychiatric ward at VGH! 1/6
