Yesterday I helped an 88 year old make maple syrup. He has 75+ trees tapped and got 1,075 gallons of sap, which will make about 25 gallons of syrup. He talked a lot about his wife, who recently passed. They were married 65 years. His advice? “If she asks you to do something, do it right away”.

Audubon Center in Minnesota. Weekend camp sort of deal for elementary schoolers. Lots of outdoor activities, hiking, canoeing, bonfires. At one point they paired us off, gave us a compass, and we had to find our way back through like half a mile of woods unsupervised at age 10. Fun times.

Once again, I awake with the horrifying knowledge that Ohio exists.
