I thank my parents for teaching us to speak Tamil and raising us bilingual. It’s truly a gift to switch worlds all the time. I only know two languages and wish I knew more but I’d like to learn how to read and write basic Tamil this year. Here’s hoping.

Can’t believe it’s been 8 years since her passing. It’s Hindu tradition of offering food that the spirits would like to eat so carrot cake it is. My mom always told me that my good Karma from my past lives granted me such a wonderful second mother. Spending the day with my FIL.

I wish my dad was alive to see the Buddhist monks walk for peace. I know he would have found a way to see them here when they get to DC. My father healed a lot of his own suffering through Vipassana meditation and I’m glad it helped him towards the end of his life. Thinking of you Dad.

My oldest was kind enough to drive her sister to school this morning because there were 7° outside and her reward is a nice cup of hot French chocolate made with Lindt chocolate.

My oldest comes home for winter break today. It’s hard to see a piece of you go and be an adult and I know my days are numbered where I’ll barely see her anymore as she starts to live her life. Makes me happy that I spoke to mom everyday and always answered her calls.

I’m pretty sure it’s my algorithm but I keep seeing reels where non Indian content creators make fun of Indian accents set to popular songs, their entire page is dedicated to it. Both my parents had heavy Indian accents, but both were kind, loving and hard working folk in the medical field.

My sister just had surgery on Wednesday and just made this delicious Beef bourguignon. Her husband is French and so she tries to make as many meals that remind him of home. She’s a wonderful cook.

My twin sister had her hysterectomy surgery yesterday so she’s laid up on the sofa, so we’re having a Star Trek marathon. Our birthday is also First Contact Day so we were born to be Trekkies 🖖🏾

This is the first time in a long time I’m away from my family. I’m taking care of my sister after her hysterectomy surgery tomorrow. It’s been a rough year for her with her cancer journey and I’m grateful for a wonderful husband to hold down the fort when I’m needed here.

My catnip blankets have been a hit as well as my catnip pillows. It’s nice to see so many cat lovers at my shows sharing pictures of their kitty babies. Even better when they send me pics and videos with my products.

It’s been 5 months since I stoped drinking alcohol ( mostly) I’ve had about 3 beers since June. I also stopped dying my hair and my curls have come back and my hair is growing. Skin is doing better too. The non alcoholic beers, especially Guinness and Michelob Ultra Zero are really good. 47 baby.

As a college Freshman, I mistakenly took a Philosophy class that was levels above me but the professor let me stay. I wrote a paper on Frankenstein and my view on Mary Shelly thoughts and got an A. I wish I still had the paper so I could give it to my daughter since this is her favorite book.
