Yakuza Kiwami does feel like a bit of a step down from the high bar set by Yakuza 0, but it remains an engaging, moving, and hilarious experience that successfully honors the beginning of Kiryu's legend. Read the full review here:

The memoir game isn't new, but it is having a moment. I blogged about the boom of autobiographical games in the early 2010s -- and why the sub-genre is now returning with a vengeance.

Breaks my heart to share this, but today is my last day at The Verge and I am looking for work! I'd really like to stay in video games, preferably in some kind of journalistic capacity but I can do PR/Marketing and maybe even a lil Narrative Design. Please get in touch!

Inverse has decided to "divest from gaming content" so I'm out of a job again! This is almost certainly the end of my career in games media, and probably the end of my writing career. I'd love for that not to be the case, so I'd appreciate any leads but I'm honestly not hopeful for obvious reasonsâ„ïž

Hayes and I have never worked together, which is a damn shame, but we've been friends for a while. Trust me when I tell you that he's the best interviewer in the business, a fantastic writer, and a better person. The games press is better because he's in it. Hire him.

I know, I know, anecdotal and all, but I have actually seen several MAGA people turn the other way here after the latest ICE events, so it feels like perception has drastically shifted.

I bet a bunch of ICE goons like to call themselves "Irish" because their great great grand cousin traveled through Donegal once", so it's worth iterating that almost all Irish folks think ICE are a pack thugish fascist punk bitches and they'd get spat on if they called themselves "Irish" in Ireland.

This seems like a maliciously put headline to make people feel a certain way. Wikipedia is not partaking in generative AI. They are making AI companies and scrappers having to pay for training their modules off wikipedia texts. And having an AI (not that ai) tasked with updating dead links.

Very cool and normal that basically 99% of laws can be ignored if you are rich and just say "Nuh-uh", when someone accuses you of doing something, no matter how much evidence they have.

i think itâs pretty fair to consider CBS straight fascist government media, trumps administration is clearly drip feeding them narratives and âscoopsâ and obviously CBS will run them with zero regard for fact

Trying to play a game for review, but it keeps putting me to sleep. Like actually asleep, snoring in my chair. Not really sure what to do. It's just very dull! But I also haven't gotten far (on account of the naps), so not sure I can say I've given it a fair shake.

I think about how online audiences have been trained to look for reasons that victims are actually the villains, to recast them as the perpetrators, and how these are the same narratives the state uses to ensure the mechanism of patriarchyâviolence, abuse, and murderâcontinue with impunity.

QRTing a thing someone made and saying something nice about it would save the Internet. The feeling of seeing a paycheck hit is nothing compared to the dopamine rush of reading someone saying something nice about a thing you did.
