It is our 7th birthday!! The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail was formed in September 2018 by a group of dedicated trail users, inspired by Ellen Pickering and Barbara Lynch’s legacy. We registered as an org in March 2019 and became philanthropic partners with NPS in Oct 2020!

The Mount Vernon Trail will have a detour starting Friday March 6th in Old Town North. The detour is due to a shoreline stabilization project to fix erosion that is threatening collapse of a section of the trail. Work is expected to take 5-6 weeks.
