Got to see something I worked on on sale in store for the first time today. Being able to show family I'm holidaying with that my #ttrpg work actually exists is nice. It was also nice to see local game stores actually stocking games other than D&D and Pathfinder.

See, the trick is that "the GM exists for the players' amusement, whose job is to ruin their plans for fun" and "the GM rules like a king, and the players exist to be their playthings" is that these SEEM like opposite maladaptive approaches to play, but they both result in the GM doing all the work.

Recently ran the first playtest of my system, CAPE. It was a great time, but I have a lot to change. For starters, the mechanic that structure the combat system is Not Great™ (the fix should be relatively painless though) Hoping to start talking more about it come the new year!

I’ve only been watching TTRPG news maybe once or twice a week, so I’m kinda getting an outside perspective for the first time in a while. One of the things sticking out is Daggerheart’s success being used to indicate WotC’s death. A healthy competitor isn’t a death sentence, it’s just a threat.

There has to be a word for greed creating the biggest competitor and threat to your brand. Cao-ing? “Pulling a Hasbro?”

If WotC gives you an offer, you’re shooting yourself in the foot if you don’t see if Darrington Press can beat the offer. Hell, even at $5000 less a year it’s more secure than a Hasbro job. Lol

I finally got around to collecting all the legendary gear and 100% completing Elden Ring. Now it's time to start a new character and play again for the Xth time (Nightreign is also quite fun, just waiting for friends to pick it up so I can play with them)

My copy of #Daggerheart arrived today. It's pretty neat. The campaign frames are a strong idea I'd love to see in more games. Kohd is a particularly cool inclusion. Environments statblocks are also a fascinating decision. No idea how they're going to feel in play, but conceptually they're very cool

Found this bit of text in a recent DMs Guild D&D adventure. I hate this so, so much. The cultists, numbering 6-8, fight with erratic, unpredictable tactics. They roll a d6 each round to determine their behavior (e.g., reckless assault, retreat, self-inflicted harm, unpredictable magic).

I was finally able to send a new adventure off to the printers ready for release in the next few weeks! Very excited for people to give this one a go. I'm very proud of it.

I should try writing a one-page RPG (or at least a double-sided one). The desire to make things without the bottleneck of waiting for other people is stronger than ever.

So, just exported Vagabond's INDD file for print and VTT, and now I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with the 8 to 10+ hours every day I used to spend working on this thing.
