I still gladly voted for Spanberger over Sears on my VA ballot, and you should too if you live here, but I've been pretty disappointed how she tries so hard to avoid even mentioning trans people, even when directly asked. Amongst those who are "on our side", we're still being othered and devalued.

The streaming ad load for MLB playoff games broadcast by Fox/FS1 is bizarre. It has many normal advertisers: Capital One, Liberty Mutual, the iPhone. But sometimes has some odd stuff I think they're pulling from Fox News' inventory, like "patriot" survival food kits w/ a QR code tutorial. Just weird

As a colorblind person, the Fox HUD to show the bases is basically unreadable to me. I guess they're different colors? But the contrast is almost nonexistent for me.

TBS/HBO Max's NLDS broadcast seems to be in Dolby Atmos. It's fun to hear a random fan yelling something behind me while I sit on the couch.

I’m researching candidates for my state’s Democratic primary coming up, and precisely _zero_ of them mention trans rights in their lists of issues. Zero. A few mention vague “LGBTQ+” support but all very hand-wavey. When the other side is so actively demonizing us, that simply is not acceptable.

This is some extremely scary rhetoric from the US government. A major escalation. Trans rights are human rights, and in a world where the government is trying to tear trans people down, it's so important to be active and loud in supporting the trans folks in your community.

when the time comes & this bill has a number or is rolled into a rules package, we absolutely need cis folks to call reps about this. even GOP reps. if 1 democrat lets this go without a fight, a national bill won’t be far behind. and if the GOP isn’t unanimous, there’s a chance they won’t even try.

My number one Bluesky complaint is that it doesn't remember my scroll position. What's the point of a chronological timeline if every time I want to load newer posts it just bumps me up to the top?

I really wish there were better third party iOS app options for Bluesky. I'm spoiled by all the great options for Mastodon (Ivory, Ice Cubes, Mona, etc), and the official Bluesky app just can't stack up to them. Am I missing any good options?

I do like a lot of the ideas Bluesky has. Their custom feeds stuff is super cool. My community just isn't here though. The people I want to follow are either in the fediverse or on Threads. Plus the fediverse has a lot of _real world_ interop that atproto just doesn't.

So what do I do with all my invite codes now?
