The thing I find hardest about art shows is how to price my own art - it’s a balance between what I would like to take based on time spent and what I think someone will actually pay, and I’m still not sure I have it right. I often write my list, then reflexively go back and lower the prices later…

Just bc a book contains a protagonist between 10 and 30, especially a female protagnoist, doesn't mean it's YA. Just bc the book is written by a woman (or someone you incorrectly assume is a woman), doesn't make it YA. Just bc a book is fun, written colloquially, or has romance doesn't make it YA.

Keeping up with Drawtober, my latest #art was for the prompt ‘mushroom fairy’, and tbh I’m pretty proud of this one! It’s my first time drawing mushrooms and fungi, and it took absolutely forever…

Decided to try following along with #drawtober this year! This is my art for prompt 1, candlelit messenger. This is called ‘The Catacombs’, and I’ll be selling the original at World Fantasy Convention 2025. It’s been a while since I’ve taken part in Drawtober, and I’m really enjoying it so far!

Currently stuck resting at home after my knee op, so I guess I’ll just finish this illustration and watch studio ghibli movies ✨

I have arrived home from knee surgery to find a mysterious Amazon parcel addressed to me, containing a book that I absolutely cannot wait to read! Now to figure out which lovely person sent it to me… (It’s Freakslaw, by Jane Flett)

I’ve been waiting on elective knee surgery (arthroscopic meniscal repair) since April last year. When I was first listed, I was told it would be in May 25 - then I was told end of August 25. Now I’ve been told October at the earliest - disappointing isn’t the word for it 🫠 Sorry, rant over!

We played The Traitors card game tonight and it was everything I hoped for Fantasy Forest has been the best weekend of 2025 no doubt 😆❤️

So this weekend we went to Fantasy Forest at Sudeley Castle, and it was incredible! We had such a good time, the entire experience was amazing from start to finish. I even hand made and embroidered my own wizard jacket (the navy blue!)
