The property I'm buying has a lovely wood burning stove set in a gorgeous fire surround, which I was excited about. But after doing some research, I'm 99% sure that I'll need to swap out the wood-burner for an electric one. Because sensitive guinea pigs lungs and fire particulates don't mix.

I love being a little older and knowing who I am. My cat wandered across the camera during an interview and instead of feeling weird I just said "and honestly, if you think this is unprofessional, we're not going to be a good match" and when I look up dude is holding up HIS cat to the camera.

Tonight we were practicing back scratching and she was enjoying it so much she fully pancaked flat with her eyes closed and started purring. The adorableness of this tiny goblin cannot be quantified.

Mama-Baby bonding time. Flora is getting very brave during her solo hangout time with me. She wants to be sitting on me or climbing on me at all times. The climbing is a bit scary because she is blind, fast and fearless, which is an alarming combo in such a small fragile thing.

Made the terrible mistake of wondering if I could adopt a chill, elderly cat when I’m settled in my new place. One that won’t harass the pigs and who just wants a quiet retirement home to snooze in and maybe have some cuddles (if they like cuddles). And I found Winry, Scotland’s saddest cat. 🥺

In the office on a Sunday doing some shortlisting on behalf of the government. It’s a senior role so most applicants are CEOs and Exec Directors. And the amount of applicants who **haven’t followed the very clear instructions** is truly baffling. 😕

Bugger. My pink front door plans may be scuppered because my new place is in a conservation area. So I will need planning permission to change it and there are likely restrictions on colours to make sure it’s in keeping with the local area. (Side eye at the ugly white UPVC door on it now…)
