So the brief for the wreaths at Bendor Towers is that they should be properly recyclable and where possible made from foraged material. Normally it’s a more traditional round with the base formed from withys. This year a bit different, the base is a potato #gardenstuff

Congratulations to Avi’s Mama for growing some Narcissus tazetta (Paperwhite) bulbs. What lovely Christmas decor they make. The first flower and a bud already. Also #gardenstuff has a handout for that should anyone else like to give it a go in the future. Well done Mama very proud of you.

We have lost a lot of box this year from some sort of disease. I decided to plant up some tubs while I decided what to replace the big bush that was growing here by the front door. The growing medium I used was a thick layer of shredded pruning (not the box 😊) at the bottom #gardenstuff

Slugs and snails do important jobs in the garden, breaking down plant matter and providing food for other wildlife 🐌 To prevent slugs from eating certain plants, protect them with grit, cloches and hand removing any you find. Create a pond to attract slug-munching frogs.

I have a bit of news. @gardenstuff.bsky.social has been given a booth at the Anipal Holiday Bazaar on the 22nd November. It’s a great opportunity to increase the garden club profile and importantly grow community spirit generally. #gardenstuff

I garden primarily for the wildlife, so I don't mind hungry munching marks. I think this leaf is rather picturesque.

Ivy flowers late in the season and what a rich resource for pollinators it is. You can see the first bee has it's pockets full of pollen. A ladybird snoozing on a leaf making the most of some bright Sunday sunshine #garden

I don’t know if everyone has heard the very sad news that #gardenstuff friend Avi has crossed the rainbow bridge. Deepest condolences to his Mama and Dade. Dear Avi thank you for your precious friendship. By way of tribute I am reposting his last post to @gardenstuff. Run free Avi 💜

My second post is an old friend, this tree is visible from every front window of the house. I see it any morning as I pull the curtains. It's a barometer of each season it's been there as long as I've been in the house. Photo this morning from the front gate. It is just starting to change.
