Our walk today took us to Forcett near Piercebridge where there are enormous iron age fortifications built by the Brigantes who, led by their Queen, came to an accommodation with the Roman invaders. The ramparts enclosed many hectares but are hard to pick out in these pics

Today's walk took us up to Barningham moor above Teesdale in a search for 300 000 yr old rock art. We didn't find them but the weather and views were just gorgeous.
