Occasionally reminded that Georgia added a “post tenure review” process bc they were so certain that professors became deadweight once they had job security, and all the outcomes have proven JUST THE OPPOSITE! People work harder and in more complex ways when they feel secure in their employment.

My guilty pleasure is watching “Love is Blind” Let me tell you. The men and their behavior is not the exception. It is the rule. That is what it is out there for pretty, successful women. Heck, women in general. It is THAT bad.

Sometimes I am like be happy with what you get. I allow a flash card (front and back) 3x5in. Then it becomes: what size? Can I have the biggest one? JUST ONE FLASH CARD?! What can I put on it? No good deed goes unpunished!

Spent most of the day doing field work with my independent research student. We visited a neat outcrop of sedimentary rock between Catoctin Formation lava flows. The ~4m strat column here grades from mud at the bottom through arkosic turbidites and into a conglomerate full of rounded pebbles. ⚒️
