The Government’s rightly concerned about forcing people seeking asylum onto the streets. Yet they've also decided to halve the ‘move-on’ period for most to just 28 days – a change that will likely push many new refugees into destitution and homelessness. We need this change to urgently be reversed.

Today's new immigration statistics show that 57% of people arriving by small boat come from just 5 countries: Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iran, Syria, Sudan. These nationalities all face war or persecution. Yet none have a meaningful safe route here. It's clear: there's a vital need for new pathways.
