At work and pacing around like a trapped animal as I wait for a long enough period of calm so I can slink away into a corner and draw some little thing on receipt paper or cardboard.

Unfortunately gotta get ready for work so I can't do more than that one page atm. But if its slow I'll probably try to get some scrap paper to doodle on throughout the day. I feel like ive gotta make use of this jolt of motivation to make stuff, even if its just starting small.

Today I broke through the fog of wanting to draw but not feeling the motivation. Opened my sketchbook just to make a mark on the page, and kept going till i filled the page. After playing with my cat (who wanted to steal my pencil) I was inspired to try drawing the way he sits and lounges around.

To the dozen or so folks who follow me, im sorry that half my posts are complaining into the void

Its truly some kind of divine comedy or cosmic prank how ive had a Google tab for 'pathological demand avoidance' open for like two weeks and haven't clicked through to read it yet

Obviously there is some undiagnosed and untreated mental stuff going on that is keeping me from engaging with hobbies or generally doing anything. Also frustrating that getting help feels just as insurmountable as picking up a pencil to make something quick n silly.

Writing a bit yesterday also left me feeling energized and wanting to draw, which rules. But I had to get ready for a closing shift where I would be busy all night, which sucks.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so I wrote her a little letter as part of a gift. I hadn't picked up a pen to do any writing longer than a few notes in months at this point. (Which is kind of embarrassing but whatever). Forgot how nice it felt to sit for a few mins and put something to the page.
