Larian's horrible hirring process is an open secret in the industry – insane amounts of unpaid work in "writing tests", excessive numbers of interviews, months and months of back and forth, etc. Everyone in games narrative circles has heard the stories at this point, probably from multiple people.

shoutout to those of you who correctly guessed it was Larian when I was on here vaguely complaining about a company’s hiring process and warned me that the large scale unpaid writing test with no success criteria was only the start of how shitty the hiring process was. you folks spared me some pain.

I'm a KH fan, this keeps happening where youtubers keep acting like every showcase is gonna be the one to "totally have KH4 news" and I'm numb to it Sly fans do it too with Sly 5 or whatever, I could list examples for YEARS

I've noticed it before in multiple places online but in the context of the gaming community, too many people set up their entire expectation for these lame ass showcases based on leaks or hearsay and then get disappointed because they didn't get the thing they weren't even guaranteed

The Half Life and Sonic situations at the Game Awards should be learning experiences for people to not just blindly believe "rumors" or "leaks" or whatever other hearsay they see online as if it's gospel but I KNOW nobody will learn from this and it'll happen again.

don't know a whole lot about e33, but reading that the studio that made it was founded by an ex-ubisoft dev who went indie because he knew he wouldn't have been able to make the game in a triple AAA environment due to lack of support + power within the company makes me incredibly happy
