JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 31: The Great Rainbow Road Gap Jump. A pretty impressive looking final shortcut if I do say so myself. But hey, this was a fun little project to do! Mario Kart World has its problems, but it's theoretically infinite skill ceiling keeps me coming back.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 30: Rainbow Road, Water Section Turn Skip. I'm still hesitant to call this my favorite Rainbow Road in the series, but it's right up there with the 3DS one, and this itemless jump only adds to it. And don't worry, I have one last thing prepped for tomorrow.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 29: Peach Stadium, Two Feather cuts and a wall ride. The first Feather cut I already knew about. The short wall ride is a tiny optimization that is cleanly set up afterwards. And that ending cut is easy with a Shroom, but I can now use a Feather for it.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 28: Mario Circuit, A small ending jump skip. There's a few jumps over barriers like this one across all 3 sections, but I find anything that makes you jump higher than this a bit inconsistent. No big deal, this course is all about the Shroom cuts anyway.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 27: Acorn Heights, Fast Leaf Section + Ending Turn Shroomless Cut. Believe it or not, despite the method for taking the ending cut being coin-dependent, that's the easiest part. The leaf jumps and initial wall ride can be surprisingly finicky.

Man, I still remember thinking to myself during the pandemic that if I was to hop onto another console platform besides Nintendo, it would be Playstation. Even now, the PS5 still seems like a pretty decent piece of tech. But what the f*ck is that price...

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 26: Bowser's Castle, the two big NISCs. This is imo the best Bowser's Castle track in any Mario Kart game, and these two cuts are a big reason for that. I still struggle to get them consistently, but they save so much time that I almost always go for them.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 25: Toad's Factory, Upper Coin Path + Ending Cut. I never took the time to learn how to get up to this path. This hallway is narrow and chaotic, so being able to skip it to get coins helps, even though it's a bit slower. The ending cut is self-explanatory.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 24: Choco Mountain, Chocolate Lake Cut (Single Shroom Variant) This cut is best taken with a Golden or multiple Mushrooms, but if you only have one, this path is a good alternative. Just watch out for the chocolate balls.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 23: Moo Moo Meadows, The Funny Cow Bounce + Tree Jump. Does the Cow Bounce actually save that much time? No. But is it funny? Absolutely. At least the tree cut is actually worth the time to learn. There is a shroomless variant, but that's FAR more difficult.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 22: Dry Bones Burnout, Charge Jump Turn Skip + Lava Jump. Another deceptively difficult cut, mostly due to the angle of the jump. And the trick needed to get the wall ride afterwards is a bit finicky, as well.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 21: Boo Cinema, Lap Ending Sequence. Like with Crown City, this one isn't much of a shortcut, and more just a faster driving sequence, this time involving motion tricks, a wall ride, and a pole bounce.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 20: Dandelion Depths, Lap Start Pole Bounce. This one may seem simple, but the alignment is pretty tricky. It also skips an item set, and while I usually prefer cycling items, this cut can be helpful if you've already got a good set.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 19: Cheep Cheep Falls, The Infamous "Tarzan" Cut. This is, without a doubt, the hardest single shortcut I've learned in this game so far, perhaps even in any racing game I've ever played. Tbh, I'm still not consistent with it, but in time, I hope to be.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 18: Great ? Block Ruins, Beginning Mushroom Cut. Might seem like a simpler cut compared to others I've done and the well known skip later in this track (which I already know), but the reason I hadn't gotten this down is because this is a (mostly) blind turn.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 17: Dino Dino Jungle, Nesting Grounds Feather Cut Another feather cut with a somewhat wonky wall detach. At least this is more forgiving and saves more time than the DK Spaceport one. Also, I doubt I'll ever get that awesome timing with the T-Rex roar again.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 16: Salty Salty Speedway, Glider Path + Ending Rail Cut The funny thing is that when combining these cuts with the early path switch, nearly the entire track now uses a different path than the casual route. And yes, the Mushroom or a Feather is required here

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 15: Peach Beach, Section 3 Box Cut Skip. I like the idea behind extending Peach Beach into a 3 section track, but there's unfortunately not much going on in Section 3. At least this little jump adds something to the final bit.

Yeah, it's official. I'm washed at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Still love the game, and had a great time on stream, but my skills are NOT what they used to be.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 14: Faraway Oasis, the Rail Jump. The motion trick into charge jump saves more time than my old line, but I still struggle with getting the trick off the rail just right. It's still a neat sequence that sets you up well for the next rail ride.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 13: Koopa Troopa Beach, Charge Jump Box Cut. All in all, this is a pretty forgiving cut once you get the timing down, and is really the only trick this course has. And the laps are so short that I could fit it twice in one clip!

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 12: Wario Shipyard, Starting Turn Tree Bounce. I've known for a while that avoiding the water this way is faster but only now do I know that the instant wall detach is even faster than getting up to the higher offroad path, so I've implemented it here.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 11: Sky High Sundae, Starting Coin Path. I knew this path existed, but I never did quite get the trick timings down to consistently get the first four coins. This path is slower than taking the glider, but having a high coin count is worth it on this track.

RE: Pokemon Pokopia Tbh, I'm still not interested in playing this game myself. Cozy life-sim games have never really appealed to me. That said, it's been interesting to see online perceptions of this game go from "overpriced Pokeslop" to "potential GotY 2026 contender" in less than a week.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 8: Airship Fortress, Ending Mushroom + charge jump cut into rail path. The part that's new for me is the charge jump, saving a fraction of a second more that the regular Mushroom cut. The angle is more precise than one would think. Not much room for error.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 7: Wario Stadium, the Vailer cut (or so I've heard it called) This one is all about getting the maximum height possible from a wall ride, and to do so, you need some very precise alignment with the wall. Oh, and the tiny boost from the coin is required too.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 6: Shy Guy Bazaar, Upper Bazaar Path + Charge Jump Turn I already knew a couple ways to tackle this path on top of the shops, but this specific one is new to me. Speed control is a big thing here. Too fast off the wall detach and you fly all the way down.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 5: Desert Hills, Ending NISC This cut is free if you use a Mushroom, but without using any items, it's pretty challenging. The angle is pretty tight, and if someone knocks away the torch that is used as a visual indicator, you just gotta eyeball it.

Not putting this on my media thread because I've seen it before, but my sister and I have been rewatching the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series, and yep, this show hasn't aged a day. Just as good as when I first watched it as a kid, and still my favorite animated TV show.

JC learns 30 shortcuts in 30 days: Day 3: Whistlestop Summit, Gap Jump + Ending NISC (Shortcat Method) The gap jump isn't that bad once you have the right alignment and perhaps a recovery item. The ending cut is a DOOZY. Took me a while to get the inputs and timing down, even with a guide.

Pokemon Presents 2026 Reaction: First, why are we getting Gale of Darkness before Coliseum on NSO? But more importantly, Gen 10 is real! And gotta say, Pokemon Winds and Waves look pretty good...from what little we've seen so far. Browt and Pombon look adorable, and Gecqua is...there, too.
