50 hours in, I wrote up my thoughts on Tales of Xillia, but it is a LOT. So I'll be brief. I'm enjoying it a lot, but I have MANY problems with it. Better judgment is telling me to quit, but I wanna see this through, despite it getting exhausting, and this isn't even considering the 2nd route.

Summer 2026 Nintendo Direct thoughts: Holy shit, that was a LOT to take in. Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, and Orbitals are all on my radar. The DK Challenge is an interesting idea, and I'll at least give the Bananza stuff a shot, but I'm not too big on system level achievements atm. We'll see.

We have a Nintendo Direct tomorrow, and while I have a few personal hopes, one thing I pretty much expect to see is something Zelda related. It is the series' 40th anniversary after all. And if it is the long rumored Ocarina of Time remake is there, I'm interested, but also a bit concerned.

This post still holds up right now, but will it change with tomorrow's Nintendo Direct? Maybe! We'll just have to see!

Saw the trailer, and I'm interested. New voice cast sounds good, and the game itself looks great! No Switch 2 version announced yet, though I'm sure it'll come eventually. I'm just crossing my fingers that it'll be true physical and not a key card. Still haven't played Reload for that reason.

Being a GKC is bad enough, but no upgrade path is the real dealbreaker for me. Guess I'll just be playing the Switch 1 version that I already own whenever I get around to it. I'm not forking over an additional $40 for an empty box when I already have a perfectly capable way to play the game.

10 hours into Tales of Xillia, and I have a few thoughts. First, what's up with the audio? The music is great, but the voice lines all sound like they were recorded with a thick dampener. I've been told this pretty common for early Tales games, but it's a shame that this remaster is marred by it.

I genuinely love the story in Tears of the Kingdom. It shares the theme of sacrifice with Breath of the Wild, but contrasts BotW's loneliness with a narrative of fostering connection and unity. Where I think TotK falters is in the writing. There's a reason "Demon King? Secret Stone?" is such a meme

Star Fox (Switch 2) Impressions: Well, it's Nintendo's 5th outing with this narrative, and the only Star Fox game I've played was one of them (SFZero on Wii U). But a remake of 64 with proper controls and a MASSIVE visual glowup is actually pretty appealing to me, especially given its lower price.

I turn off my phone and access to the internet for ONE AFTERNOON.
