Good morning Lal Lal windfarm (in the distance, past the canola fields). Wind and solar smashed records on Saturday hitting a new peak of 79.8% electricity share on the NEM - without huge curtailment they would have produced 113% of demand. Huge!

A clinker (hardened ash) detachment resulted in an explosion at Qld's coal powered Callide C3 unit last Friday. On Tuesday Treasurer David Janetzki boasted about his coal generation plan but neglected to mention the incident. Today he admitted he should have.

We loved getting out to The Cherry Tree Wind Farm near Seymour over the weekend, on a tour organiser by Mitchell Community Energy. Y2R was involved in the early days of this project, backing locals who wanted wind energy built in their region. It took many years and it was worth it.
