How weird is my day starting off? I'm driving a truck through an empty building collecting garbage. I'm a mechanic that specializes in electrical modifications, alterations, and upfitting. This wasn't in my job description.

Okay so maybe the Danelectro Milkshake guitar pedal wasn't quite as stupid of an impulse buy as I thought, because it doesn't sound anything like my other two chorus pedals and can get really, really funky when run through a reverb. Still not a good pedal, but it's fun at least.

Did two loads here today, and yet somehow ended up spending most of my day at this place because of how crazy slow and busy they were. This was my first time going to a scrapper, and it was super interesting to watch them going about and doing their thing, tearing cars and metal apart into lil bits.

Did I have any need for yet another chorus pedal? No. Was this pedal really cheap and does it match the aesthetic and brand of my guitar? Very yes! It's not that I make impulse purchases, I just leave my purse open to options. I might really enjoy the aesthetic of Danelectro.

I don't want to get too political or anything, but I need a cuddle tonight like I need to breathe.

First guitar lesson with my actual instructor tonight. Nerves are through the roof for some reason. Heck anxiety.

I enjoy really clean, well laid out and labelled/differentiated cable management. I spent way too much time on my pedal board tonight, getting the bundle of cables running to and from it to look just right. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and how well it sounds.

This was my "office" for the day. An old, clapped out flat deck with no heat or AC, brakes that don't work, exhaust leaks into the cab, and transmission is not enjoying life. My work has moved location and all our other trucks are tied up with customer stuff, so I get the old beater. Sigh.

Last time I tried taking guitar lessons it didn't go well for a variety of reasons and it kinda put me off them for a while. Hopefully tonight's first lesson with a different studio goes better. Also I don't know why I feel so anxious taking my guitar for a walk but I really am tonight.

Every year, on a sick day when I just cannot with the world, I will sit down and watch the entire Jurassic Park Trespasser playthrough by Research Indicates. This is a tradition that I've kept up for a lot of years now, and I cannot explain it. Today is my day for this year.

I've always just spot cleaned my desk mat, but recently I read you could run them through the wash with your bedding, wrapped in a pillowcase. So I tried it. Seems to have worked well enough, but it takes so hecking long for it to air dry. My desk feels weird without it.

I did a really stupid thing today and bought my first tube amp. I've been watching it for a while as it was already super low, but the pictures and description were so bad that it was hard to tell exactly what it was. When they dropped the price more I couldn't help but jump on it. Love the sound.

Sold my electric earlier this year and I've been regretting it, so last weekend I picked up this 56 U2 reissue which obviously needed strings and a lil TLC. This might be the single most annoying bridge I've ever used on a #guitar for restringing. I hate everything about it.

Oh my gods, this album! Ever since it was introduced to me by a crunchy, granola-eating friend, I've been in love with it and have used it as my go-to zone out album. Finally found it on #vinyl today and I couldn't be happier with how it sounds. Swim by Caribou is honestly pure musical magic.

My work is moving, shifting into 1 big location rather than 3. So its my task to do all the boring health and safety stuff and I had such a heck of a time tracking down a wall-mounted air horn holder that I decided to just model and print my own. Pretty happy with how they turned out.

I honestly don't know why I sat down and modelled a hallway from a television show just to place an avatar at the end of it and upload it to #VRChat, but that is what half my day was today. You should come smell it. Live on labs now. Link below!

When I started with my current company I was promised an office, but I've only ever been on the tools. Now that we are moving the owner again promised me an office so I could do the work I was hired to do, but I just got informed I will be allowed a shared work station sometimes. Okay I guess.

Decided to make a bad decision a couple weeks ago and bought a 3d printer. I didn't need one, but I wanted one. Designed and printed these lovely little spacers for the back of my record player to keep it level on top of my amp. Much better than the random chunk of wood I was using before.

I decided to make something stupid, and it was everything I ever wanted it to be. Once I squish a few more lil bugs and add a few more features, look for them to be available in one or many of our normal locations.

It's rare for me to find someone interested in me, and even more rare to manage a second date. Yesterday was date 3 with a new guy I am seeing, and obviously that was the best time for my period to hit and lay me flat with cramps. He took it well, and we just cuddled and watched SAO for a while.

My brain is cooked. I saw this at work this morning and couldn't stop giggling at it with all my bottom energy.

Portion control. A smol shot glass of choco chips as a snack is one of the ways I trick myself into thinking I'm eating healthy by artificially limiting the quantity I take from my kitchen to justify the treat. We'll just ignore the two refills I had. #portioncontrol #healthylifestyle #noguilt

Was told to get the equipment out of the side yard this morning, but my forklift talked to the mud and said "no". So for another day, the grass grows taller and the equipment rusts a bit more.

I ended up spending a lot of time exploring my 85mm at #FEH2025 trying to get better used to it, trying to do more "natural" shots rather than asking furries to pose for me. Might just be me, but I think the shots look more "natural", for whatever that is worth.

My new shirt from @nomadcomplex.com got quite the reaction at work today. I dunno, I just feel that as the health and safety supervisor I should be giving solid advice to the shop, like don't do your drugs in the bathroom! This seems reasonable to me.

Went through the 570 pictures I took at #FEH2025 and processed a bunch of them - colour correcting and that sort of thing. I'll start posting them bit by bit over the next day or 2. Seeing a couple partial fursuits (head, or head and tail) at Fur-Eh for sale in the dealers den within my impulse spending threshold has me craving making a very poor life decision within the near future... I don't know where to look for a Canadian artist with a pre-made though 😿

I wanted to explore the space of the hotel a little, see if I could capture how lonely and depressing the hallways and rooms feel when away from the crazy busy nature of a furcon like #Fur-Eh. There is something isolating about being in this space, only having a dull hum of traffic in your ears.

With #Fur-Eh coming to an end, waiting in line for closing ceremonies, it feels bittersweet. I'm saddened because my fiancee is flying home tomorrow, and this amazing event is coming to a close, but I'm so happy I got to experience such an amazing convention and spend so much time with her. 💜
