I just saw a pickup truck drive by with a shiny new electric dirt bike on a hitch rack. Also on the rack was a yellow Jerry can. I don't know that they quite grasped the idea behind what an electric dirt bike is.

Two fursuits, two carry on sized luggage, a few backpacks, and a bin of food just about entirely fill up a small hatchback. Go figure. Should be within smelling distance of #fureh soon.

This week has been difficult for me, as the only thing on my mind right now is #fureh! Cannot hecking wait to head out tomorrow and spend a weekend around other furry folk. Should be an amazing weekend.

Tuesday

On this Monday morning I want to wish that those techs out there that encase their poor quality wiring job in expanding foam to hide their mistakes a very happy I hope you stub your toe every morning for the rest of your natural life. This customer is lucky their van didn't burn down entirely.

Less than a week out from my first convention with my fursuit and my drying equipment is finally done. Or at least as done as it's going to be for a while.

Went to a furry meetup today, a BBQ as part of a convention later this year, and didn't interact with anyone. Wife and I just sat there, unsure what to even do before we just left. Nobody said hi, nobody tried to talk with us, but when we went to leave everyone was wishing us well. It was weird.

Taking a customer's work truck apart to diagnose lights not working and I'm standing here wondering how in the heck this truck didn't burn itself to the ground. Most wiring is burnt or melted to nothing, caps have exploded inside the inverter, fuses have detonated all over the place. Just, wow.

Feeling kinda bummed about having applied to host a panel at three different conventions this year, and being rejected by two of them with one going so far as to do the panel my wife and I were offering themselves, which isn't something they did last year. Hope for the 3rd saying yes is very low.

Randomly stumbled upon my dream loco tonight, the one that first got me into this hobby! Of course I had to adopt him. Just look at how beautiful he is!

There is a very specific aesthetic to the Kodak charmera and I think I'm into it. The camera is awful in just the right way to evoke those retro lo-fi brain tingle ways.

One more prop ready to use on unsuspecting furries at conventions this year. It's a lil portable speech bubble white board on a stick! We have two flavours available: Right and Left. Also I bought a Kodak Charmera because it's hilarious and fun. What #furry thing would you write?

A new customer that I sourced for work came into the shop today at work. The interaction seemed entirely normal, but afterwards he sent me a private message asking me out. Pro tip guys: don't do this. I'm being nice to your face because you're giving me money. Once your back is turned, I hate you.

Even if I entered the self-doubt Olympics I doubt I'd be very good at it.

I wanted to test some new photography equipment I bought recently, lighting and backdrops, so I quickly threw this together in a space drastically too small for this amount of equipment. I don't hate it.

More flowers up close in your face because you need the bright and beautiful natural world shining down on you (for all you heathens out there anyway). These were taken from a recent trip to the local zoo. More in the comments. I hope you don't hate it.

The saga of my 🍎 acct continues. Everything pointed me towards not being able to open one unless I physically had a mac on hand, and rather than give them money directly I bought a used mac for cheap. Get it home, do a fresh wipe/reinstall, and... still cannot create an account!

I don't know what the heck is wrong with Apple, but I bought a MacBook Air last night, couldn't create an apple account, tech support couldn't figure out why, and when I went to return the device I was told to use my dead mother's information to open the account. That's beyond fucked up.

Decided to treat myself this weekend and bought a laminator to finish the badge for Imogen, and grabbed a set of Noctua fans for the pawb dryers. Are they excessive for what I'm using them for? Probably. But my fursuit pawbs will dry quietly and in style.

There, done, Corina and I now have our own VRC inspired con badges. I modelled, she painted. We really like how they came out! We are taking commissions to be delivered at #fureh! DM if interested.

Just pulled up the flooring in a brand new Ford transit and found this weird thing. Looks like it's been through the paint booth a few times. Zero clue what it is actually for in the manufacturing process. Nifty though.

Took the leap and bought myself a partial, an absolutely and utterly adorable fursuit head and pawbs. I already have a tail that will suit her (needs some work before I can wear it), so I am now ready for the next furry convention! I'm so hecking excited to wear her while my wife wears Corina.

Second employer in a row that I've had to submit a labour code violation complaint to the government about due to how they handled my departure. Is it too much to ask to just work for one company that follows the law and doesn't treat it's employees like garbage? I hate this.

A recent trip to the zoo saw me using my new macro lens quite a bit, and I am thoroughly enjoying the results. These are a couple quick shots inside the butterfly house, with the second picture being of a few eggs. Hitting focus isn't something I'm super good with yet, but that'll come with time.

I'm still technically employed by my previous employer, due to being officially "temporarily laid off" due to financial issues, and yet they just deleted my insurance, that I've paid for, without notice. Didn't lock me out, just straight up deleted my account. Amazing 🙄

This weekend had a lot of activity and a lot of things that my wife and I did, but one of the most notable was finding me a new set of rollers so I can start working on my cardio again. Just need a new set of trainer tires and I'll be good to go! Very excited to get back on two wheels again.

Had a massage today to deal with my bad shoulder so I could get some sleep since it's been unhappy for the last week and I was not happy with the visit. Dude did not understand consent, nor did he even ask what I wanted or how hard he needed to go. Just went to it. I got zero relief from it. Heck.

Finally took the plunge and got a new (to me) macro lens for my camera today, a fun lil Sigma 70mm f2.8 Macro Art. It's not the best lens in the world, but I do kinda love these couple random quick test shots from today of a fake flower and a lil fox in my train layout.

Went to get my bike out of storage on someone else's parking pad this afternoon and I think my winter cover has had its last season. Don't know how long it's been this torn, but it looks like it's been a while. Heck.

Two years of 10-20k steps a day, and I think my timberland work shoes have all but given up their last. I might be a bit hard on things at work. If it was just the sole that might be fixable, but the uppers and inners are torn and worn through. There is nothing left of these things.

That moment when the rest of morning shift just forgets to show up and you're too new to have a key so you just end up standing at a locked door. Thankfully the weather is nice enough though.

New employer let me use one of their mobile techs and his van to pick up my toolbox today, and thankfully my previous employer let me take the locker I sticker bombed with me! New place thought it was funny that I come with my own locker. I think I own this now.

In furtherance of the idea that it's not what you know but who you know, I got a job offer the day after I was laid off, from a place my old employer uses as a supplier. My reputation preceded me I guess and they were very excited to hear I was available. Feels weird to be wanted. I start tomorrow.

Got laid off from work today, so that's pretty cool. Most of those under me did not get marching orders but I did along with half of the staff overall, plus they fired the CFO citing extreme financial issues. Dunno if I was let go because queer or just not having hours on paper, but oh well.

My next 3d project is underway. No, you don't get to ask why I'm modelling an office with a bathroom, because sometimes the answer just isn't worth the question. I like the aesthetic though.

Had a job interview today and there might have been a train store a few blocks away. And I might have accidentally bought a new loco. And I might like how depressed and sad it looks. It needed a home, okay?! I know less than nothing about this loco other than sharing it's depression.

Another small area of the train layout decorated and filled out. It's a lil farm with utterly demented looking animal-like creatures and a gravel storage facility. Seemed like a good pairing. Need to find a dump truck for the skidsteer though. Also started on the crashed loco scene in the muskeg.

Was very excited to find these two bits of train rolling stock at the local store today. Literally the only pink car I've ever seen, and a very detailed lil blue Great Northern caboose! Heck yeah. Also grabbed an aggressive amount of trees because obviously.

24 hours ago was t-shirt weather without a single flake of snow anywhere to be found. Tonight my luck fox outside my door is almost entirely buried (it's about 12" high). Welcome to spring in Alberta I guess.

I found foxes for my model train layout and oh my gods are they tiny. Like so much smaller than I had expected. I love them so much.
