Had an interesting chat with my landlord tonight after I got home from work. I guess he can hear me playing guitar pretty well upstairs and he asked me to turn it up for him because he really enjoys listening to me play. Wasn't at all what I expected.

I've never gone to a movie premiere solo; it was always something one of my ex's enjoyed that I did with her, but I absolutely couldn't pass up fangirling over Zootopia 2 and its release. Buying the lil cup was a must, even if I don't like soda or popcorn all that much. Might be here 30 mins early.

Getting married in a few weeks and I have this persistent urge to make the most unhinged wedding registry possible with my fiancee, fully acknowledging that nobody would buy us soup if it was on a registry never mind the stuff we'd actually want.

To force myself to practise guitar more, I try to play whenever I am in VR, as I'm typically just sitting around talking to friends anyhow. I didn't realize just how hard it would be on the equipment though. My Index controller is badly pitted and scuffed, and guitar finish is cracking and dented.

I accidentally bought another large fox flavoured plush while out shopping and ended up walking around hugging it for the better part of an hour. I'm so clumsy! Look at his adorable lil derp face though! I couldn't just leave him there...

Conspiracy theory: lube places that take a lot more time to do your oil change than it should are doing so for the artificial value of it, making you think they're doing more than just a simple fluid change, to justify the high price.

Heck my diet. It's my day and I get to choose exactly how to abuse myself. I hate today. I have nothing but bad memories and trauma surrounding this day. Yet for some reason I do this and still detest anyone mentioning it or wishing me well. Feels better to be alone I guess.

No, I won't stop obsessively buying every picture, print, painting, or fox themed thing I find at thrift stores and you cannot stop me! This was certainly one of the cooler finds though.

I found out today that one of my coworkers is functionally illiterate. He's 20 and needed me to read to him some very basic instructions he was trying to follow to check a piece of machinery because he couldn't even sound out simple words like "pivot". I don't know how to feel about this.

My first "failure" of a guitar pedal. I really wanted to like this pedal, it seemed like exactly what I wanted to layer into my sound, but I think this used one is a dud. Half the modes are silent, and the others are so boomy and random that I hate it. Thankfully there is a return policy.

Had an impending sense of doom or foreboding all day today and I just cannot put my finger on it. Really killed my mood. Anyway, was just thinking of the last time I went bike packing through the mountains and how much I miss it. I think this is the only pic I have of the week spent on the trails.

Last night sitting in VR, with friends and my SO, I just started grabbing random guitar tabs and strumming through them while on open mic. It was really nice, and that feeling of just being able to pick up a (very easy) song to play at random was really rewarding. I really enjoyed/needed last night.

I don't have a reason for it, but I love strange or weird tones; unique sounds are just fun I guess. With that in mind I've built out my guitar pedal board in such a way that it can make nursery rhymes sound creepy I guess? I dunno. Was fun finding this sound, now to figure out what to do with it.

The contractors finally came back and removed the screaming industrial air filtering machines from my kitchen. The silence after listening to them for over a week straight is amazing. A handful of hours on now and even with the gallon of chemicals they sprayed, my home smells like mold again... Joy.

On the plus side though, now that I've given one of my guitars away I have an excuse to buy another one to fill the void... Hollow-body here I come.

After my guitar lesson yesterday I gave my Epiphone away to the studio I'm getting my lessons from, asking for it to go to a family or kid in need. I never got on with it, and since I got it for free I figured someone else could use it more. I just hope whomever ends up with it enjoys it.

Struggling with artistic inspiration, but modelling and learning to play guitars has been cathartic. Up next is my Epiphone Melody Maker E1. It's not a great guitar, but it's a bit of wood with strings so it's fine for class. I like how this model turned out though. Model will be for sale soon.

If my dating history is anything to go by, this metal bracket I found at work off the laser table is about as close to getting the D as I'm likely to find anytime soon.

This was the door to my kitchen. Now it is sealed, leading to a bio-hazard zone and multiple industrial air filters running 24/7. My kitchen flooded a couple weeks ago; this past Friday they tore the cabinets, backsplash down to reveal a ton of black mold. The constant droning is deafening.

This worked out pretty good. Going from a straight output jack to a recessed strat-like exit is a very nice change.

Good, at least today gets worse the longer it goes on. My tattoo artist contacted me two hours before my appt with a sketch wildly wrong for what I want, now doesn't understand what I want, and doesn't have the time to do what I want. So I lost my $200 deposit because she left it to the last minute.

Woke up to yet another message from an anonymous number telling me that I am disgusting and should unalive. I get them pretty regularly, but it's hitting pretty hard today and I'm spiraling, so that's fun.

Okai, so two things: I be making a QoL upgrade to my free guitar - I hate the cable exit location as it sits, so strat exit it is! Also, I was home alone today for a bit so I decided to turn my amp up a lil and holy heck it's so much louder than I had thought. 1/4 volume and it's deafening. Wow.

Welcome to the only holiday tradition/celebration I do: buying a mini pumpkin. First time I find one of these in the store every year I buy one and keep it around for October; it's something I've done since I was 5 or 6. I don't get dressed up, no decorating, no gifts or parties, just a pumpkin. 🎉

Somehow I ended up with a free-to-me guitar last night. Had fun spending the morning working on it and tuning it, restringing it. Of special note was that the action was about as bad as was possible, given that my fingers needed a stepladder to reach the strings. Otherwise, not super terrible.

Look, I know this is really random, but sometimes I enjoy doing photography of items, just chucking it into my light box and seeing what I can do to make a good, clean picture. I know I'm awful at it, but I think these came out nice. Just wish my box was bigger.

Guitar lesson 2: here is a new chord you've never played before! Now do quarter notes with a chord progression you've not practised at four times the pace you've been getting used to over the past week! And we are going to use the metronome entirely differently than we did last time! Lot to practice

How weird is my day starting off? I'm driving a truck through an empty building collecting garbage. I'm a mechanic that specializes in electrical modifications, alterations, and upfitting. This wasn't in my job description.

Okay so maybe the Danelectro Milkshake guitar pedal wasn't quite as stupid of an impulse buy as I thought, because it doesn't sound anything like my other two chorus pedals and can get really, really funky when run through a reverb. Still not a good pedal, but it's fun at least.

Did two loads here today, and yet somehow ended up spending most of my day at this place because of how crazy slow and busy they were. This was my first time going to a scrapper, and it was super interesting to watch them going about and doing their thing, tearing cars and metal apart into lil bits.

Did I have any need for yet another chorus pedal? No. Was this pedal really cheap and does it match the aesthetic and brand of my guitar? Very yes! It's not that I make impulse purchases, I just leave my purse open to options. I might really enjoy the aesthetic of Danelectro.

I don't want to get too political or anything, but I need a cuddle tonight like I need to breathe.

First guitar lesson with my actual instructor tonight. Nerves are through the roof for some reason. Heck anxiety.

I enjoy really clean, well laid out and labelled/differentiated cable management. I spent way too much time on my pedal board tonight, getting the bundle of cables running to and from it to look just right. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and how well it sounds.

This was my "office" for the day. An old, clapped out flat deck with no heat or AC, brakes that don't work, exhaust leaks into the cab, and transmission is not enjoying life. My work has moved location and all our other trucks are tied up with customer stuff, so I get the old beater. Sigh.
