Two years of 10-20k steps a day, and I think my timberland work shoes have all but given up their last. I might be a bit hard on things at work. If it was just the sole that might be fixable, but the uppers and inners are torn and worn through. There is nothing left of these things.

That moment when the rest of morning shift just forgets to show up and you're too new to have a key so you just end up standing at a locked door. Thankfully the weather is nice enough though.

New employer let me use one of their mobile techs and his van to pick up my toolbox today, and thankfully my previous employer let me take the locker I sticker bombed with me! New place thought it was funny that I come with my own locker. I think I own this now.

In furtherance of the idea that it's not what you know but who you know, I got a job offer the day after I was laid off, from a place my old employer uses as a supplier. My reputation preceded me I guess and they were very excited to hear I was available. Feels weird to be wanted. I start tomorrow.

There was a model train show happening in town this weekend, so I strapped on my camera and went for a walk over. Here is a thread of some of my favourite shots from today.

Got laid off from work today, so that's pretty cool. Most of those under me did not get marching orders but I did along with half of the staff overall, plus they fired the CFO citing extreme financial issues. Dunno if I was let go because queer or just not having hours on paper, but oh well.

My next 3d project is underway. No, you don't get to ask why I'm modelling an office with a bathroom, because sometimes the answer just isn't worth the question. I like the aesthetic though.

Had a job interview today and there might have been a train store a few blocks away. And I might have accidentally bought a new loco. And I might like how depressed and sad it looks. It needed a home, okay?! I know less than nothing about this loco other than sharing it's depression.

Another small area of the train layout decorated and filled out. It's a lil farm with utterly demented looking animal-like creatures and a gravel storage facility. Seemed like a good pairing. Need to find a dump truck for the skidsteer though. Also started on the crashed loco scene in the muskeg.

Was very excited to find these two bits of train rolling stock at the local store today. Literally the only pink car I've ever seen, and a very detailed lil blue Great Northern caboose! Heck yeah. Also grabbed an aggressive amount of trees because obviously.

24 hours ago was t-shirt weather without a single flake of snow anywhere to be found. Tonight my luck fox outside my door is almost entirely buried (it's about 12" high). Welcome to spring in Alberta I guess.

Spent the last week outside of work smashing my nose into my glimmer of inspiration that is modelling a tiny lil high-end apartment in the downtown of a city. It's been a while since I've wanted to put this much effort into something creative. Modelled in #Blender3D, textured in #SubstancePainter

I found foxes for my model train layout and oh my gods are they tiny. Like so much smaller than I had expected. I love them so much.

It's been a while, but I finally found a scrap of creative spark, enough to model a lil retro diner scene for a very specific reason. No, I cannot link to where this is uploaded to on the Steam Workshop (IYKYK), but it will be available as a place to exist within on VRC soon if you hate yourself.

Ended up doing a bunch of decorating and lighting around the train layout today, even adding a new restaurant that my amazing wife is going to turn into an pasta/pizza place. Also found the loco body that I'm going to weather/destroy to have crashed in the bog (muskeg?). This one seems very fitting.

Train maintenance of the day: replace the burnt out light on my lil brass loco. This one was purchased very broken and inoperable, requiring a full rebuild, including replacing even the light. Got it swapped out and put back together; good as new(ish)!

The bog section of the train layout is slowly coming together. Going to have a crashed/wrecked loco in the middle of it, so the body there now is just temporary until I start modifying one. One of these days I'll start working on the ballast for the tracks...

Heck today, heck this week, heck this year. I've had a pretty terrible time lately and I'm not okay. But at least there be trains. I would really appreciate my creative spark to return though. I wanna art again 😿

Progress lil by lil on the train layout. Doing the perimeter first, then will be working my way inward because that seems like the wrong way to do it.

First lil bit of grass, a couple colourful trees, and a bit of "road". These grass flakes are weird to work with.

Slowly expanding my layout and making it more and more fleshed out. Wife and I want it to be easily movable so we can put it away when we need to, so the 4x6' layout can be taken to bits in three parts. Next step will be grass and roads.

So that's cool. I just got a warning at work for pointing out that the print out of an AI overview slop passive aggressively dropped on my bench this morning was wrong by way of holding the actual code and law book and reading directly from it. Guess my boss thinks AI knows more than a professional

The shipping/receiving department at work can never hear the wireless doorbell they bought last year, so I wired a fire alarm to a custom built switch on the side of the building for them. This'll wake them up when a delivery comes.

My wife and I watched THX-1138 the other week and I was inspired to make a sticker. Will be randomly leaving these all over at the next furcon I go to. Will be printing them off in better quality as well, since this was just a test batch.

Creativity has been almost non-existent for me lately, and depression keeps clawing at the back of my skull, but hey at least I have trains when my guitars or 3D modelling isn't helping any. This lil loco was sold as very broken and in several pieces, but a bit of work and it's a great runner.

Because I can never leave well enough alone, I bought this DOA loco over the weekend for like $10 on a lark. Unfortunately the driving wheels were many broken, so I transplanted the guts from an entirely different loco into it because why not.

Since I was a little girl I've been obsessed with the idea of a caboose. As explained to me when I was young the thought of a team of people living at the back of a train watching to make sure all the cars stayed attached seemed nifty. Found this wooden one yesterday that has tickled me in fun ways.

It's not an addiction, I swear. My autism just kinda likes em is all. I think I've given up and fully embraced the idea of having a fully blue train for my lil railroad. Even managed to find more The Rock stuff (box car and caboose).

Because I'm cheap and love a good project, I decided to build my own train speed and track controller rather than buy one. 3d printed case, face plate sticker, and some fun wiring. Still have some work to do on it before I'm happy, but it's functional and 80% there.

For no particular reason: trains. My guitars tend to be blue, so I guess it's only fitting that I'm trying to make my rail road as blue as I possibly can.

Sometimes I take a look back at the person I used to be in my teens and 20's and realize how truly awful I was. Then I worry that I am still that person. Those moments I realize why I am alone, and why nobody wants to be around me. I worry of a future I will have with my wife and if she'll be happy.

I recently made the decision that I don't have enough hobbies and needed more things to ignore as they collect dust. To this end I've started model railroading. Today's adventure found this loco called "The Rock", which obviously I needed. Then I found "The Dock" and giggled it into my basket.

Prototype 2 of the furry convention badge I'm making. I know there are a million of these out there, and that they're easily sourced and commissioned, but I wanted to make my own version of it. Of note with mine is that the picture is easily replaceable via a lil snap ring.

I'm feeling depressed and ugly today so I'm having pizza and you cannot stop me.

I finally took the time to sit down with this book today after buying it a handful of months ago and it hit me so much harder than I'd expected. Having Mezzanine by Massive Attack playing in the background was a good choice. It's short, but so very beautiful.

Made one of my favourite dishes today for dinner tomorrow. There is just something that slaps about a fresh tabbouleh.

While out driving today I saw a gathering of traitors waving gigantic Alberta flags as they were trying to gather signatures for their stupid tantrum petition. I've never wanted so badly in my life to vomit on a group of people. It genuinely made me angry to see that in my own country.

Okai, so I had a crazy thought and it manifested into me tracking down something that probably shouldn't still exist this many years after the game was released. So that is how I came to own a sealed Rockband guitar bag. And no, it doesn't fit my headless guitar. It's super close, but not quite.

This past week I found a local guy that hand makes custom pickups so I paid him to spin up a set for my tele. After a bunch of fiddling around and reworking the electrics, wow this thing sounds amazing. Seller asked me for a picture so I sent him this. I think it's pretty. Shout out Danke Pickups.

Heck. I'm realizing more and more as I play more and more guitar that I don't actually like my "dream" guitar that I've never been able to afford. I like the look of a Gibson LP, but I don't actually like the sound or feel of them. I feel betrayed.

After not touching #Blender3D in far too long, I decided to open it today and quickly model a guitar. I dunno, certainly not my best work, but it gets the point across I guess. Pretty little guitar, now in three whole dimensions.

Wanted to cheer myself up after a week of heck, so I accidentally bought this headless guitar for next to nothing. Needs some work, but it's pretty, and very aesthetic. And before you ask: no, it's not a Strandberg. It's just a cheap EART GW2. The pickups for my tele cost more than this guitar.

Did I want a cookie jar? No. Did I need a cookie jar? Also no. Do I have any use at all for a cookie jar? Without a doubt that is a no. Did I impulse buy this fox flavoured one simply because it is fox shaped? You bet your buns I did! Zero clue what to do with it or where to put it. Zero regrets.

Hey, sorry I'm running a little late today. It's been a really rough entirety of my life.

Had a craving today and stopped off to buy a panini press on my drive home for burritos. Wow did they turn out delicious. It's nice to have space to do this kind of thing again, rather than just microwaving some garbage on a plate.

I don't really know for why, but my anxiety has been at an all time high lately, nearly entirely debilitating levels. I'm finding it difficult to do just about anything at all beyond breathing. None of my usual ways of calming it or dealing with it are working and I hate it.

Another day of moving, sorting, and cleaning done. Nearly fully out of my old place; one or two more trips left. Figured I would bake some fresh choco chippies oatmeal muffins as a treat and because apparently I'm not fat enough as it is. They are delicious though.

I don't know why I keep buying blue guitars, but it's starting to become a habit. Anyway, here is my new Telecaster that desperately needed some upgrades. The stock humbucker was okay, but it wasn't my vibe so a more normal tele pickup went in. Did some shielding & a string roller too.
