I'm not a furry funnily enough. I only use that term to disguise my therianthropic tendencies. I'm only interested in anthro animals from a therian perspective. I'm not interested in calling myself a furry unless I'm hiding my Therianthropy.

I don't like it when animal half-mask are described as "therian masks" by default. Any mask worn by a therian to express their therianthropy is a "therian mask". If a mask in that tiktok-style is worn by a non-therian, it isn't a therian mask. Anyone can wear an animal mask.

I only still consider myself a therian because the term/community is more recognized, I shift, and because technically it's true. It was my gateway into the wider community so I'm hesitant to stop and only call myself transspecies. Also transsp gets a bad reaction so it's safe to have another word.
