Harrow and Marissa Meyer where I got 5 books autographed for my collection, and an advance copy I won of Playing For Keeps by Alexandria Bellefleur arrived in the mail. 🌈📚

This is not the oldest book I own, but it was my first with a personalized autograph. I was three when it was published (yes I realize I’m aging myself if anyone cares enough, and yes I met her, although I don’t remember it). I came by my love early and honestly. 🤟🏻🌈📚

I…think that’s an understatement. This whole week, month even, has been stressful, but today was the worst. I’m going to go lose myself in some books and not think about life and death or the weight of the world and the way of things.

Is it out? Yes! Did I abandon the book I was listening to so I could start it? Also yes! Do I regret it? Not a whit. Day 30: Coming Home by @propertyofkj.bsky.social. Melbourne girl-next-door meets celebrity single mom when she’s hired to teach the actress’s daughter. They slowly fall for each other, and I fell for them. I laughed, I cried, I had all the feels. I’ve heard the audiobook is great, too. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 29: Hotel Queens by @leewinteroz.bsky.social. I love all of Lee’s books, and one of the things she’s known for is ice queens. This is one of her best, and damn her ice queen and firebrand are fabulously steamy, with wonderful chemistry, competition, and a bit of mystery. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 28: Honey in the Marrow by @emilyraywaters.bsky.social. Stella, 51 and former deputy DA, recently lost her husband. She comes into her own with the help of her niece Stella, and unexpected support from Elizabeth, a detective she used to work with. One of my favorite reads last year. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 27: Consecrated Ground by @virginiablack.bsky.social. In a world teeming with vampires, war witch Joan returns home following her father’s death. Flawless writing, and beautiful transitions between slow, sensual moments and heart pounding action. The sequel Incendiant just released! #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 26: I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself by @mcrane12.bsky.social. Yes they’ve got a brand new book out, which is excellent, but there’s something about this one that lives in my brain. It’s a dystopian story about survival against Big Brother, but it’s also a deep examination of grief. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 25: This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. An epistolary sci-fi about Red and Blue, agents for opposing factions in the time war. They travel through time, altering history while leaving letters for each other, at first taunting but becoming much more #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 24: Might As Well Be An Ocean by Kellan McKnight. A single POV, dual timeline, spicy, friends to lovers, fake dating romance with neurodiversity rep and a focus on how it affects everyday life, especially undiagnosed. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel all the feels. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 23: The Three Lives of Cate Kay by Kate Fagan. One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to, it’s an intricately woven and complex story full of mystery, romance, grief, loss, and ultimately love. A memoir-style retelling from multiple POVs that had me hooked from start to finish. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 22: Conflict of Interest by @jaeauthor.bsky.social. Fair warning that this one deals heavily with SA, so if that’s a trigger this isn’t the Jae book for you. It’s a romance within a crime investigation, and a tough subject, but Jae handles it respectfully and tenderly. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 21: Paint the Moon by Katia Rose. First in a new series, it’s a slow burn about coming home and realizing your worth. I especially love Katia’s series novels because so much time is devoted to developing the setting and side characters, which adds a lot of depth to the stories. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 20: A Memory Called Empire by @byzantienne.bsky.social, and the sequel, A Desolation Called Peace. My most basic synopsis: it’s a slow-burn sci-fi duology with excellent worldbuilding and fabulous characters that explores colonialism and cultural identity through political intrigue. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 19: So Let Them Burn by @wordsiren.bsky.social. Book 1 in a fabulous YA duology about sisterhood, the aftermath of war, and the lengths people will go to save those they love. Plus there be dragons, so there’s that awesomeness, too. Book 2, This Ends in Embers, is just as good. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 18: I couldn’t pick one, so…all of these by Ruby Roe. Girl Games are interconnected standalones, Kingdom of Immortal Lovers is a series. Separate trilogies, they’re in the same world with character crossover and spoilers, so I highly recommend reading them in this order. Dark and 🌶️🥵 #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 17: Where Starlight Burns by Alicia Haberski. A delightfully cozy sci-fi about a doctor and a sex worker who fall in love (really). The characters are a delight; Cori finds joy in everything she sees, while adventurous Aster is isolated and in need of connection. It’s a hidden gem. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 16: The Deep by @riverssolomon.bsky.social et al. I recognize that this one is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. The writing style is unorthodox and the subject matter is tough to read at times, but I found the story and how it unfolded moving and utterly enthralling. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 15: Ammonite by @nicolaz.bsky.social. Such an interesting premise, with fabulous worldbuilding and great characters. First published in 1992, it was ahead of its time and still stands out today. I read it years ago but listened to the audiobook recently, and enjoyed it just as much. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Ah, that ADHD conundrum when you’ve refilled your Rx and know you brought it in, but it’s not in the meds cabinet and you can’t find it anywhere else, so you think you may have inadvertently thrown it away along with the paper bag it came in, but it’s already been collected so you can’t check. Sigh.

Day 14: The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. Here’s the thing: I read it on my Kindle with NO IDEA how long it was, just that it sounded amazing. I’m glad I didn’t know because I might have balked at it, and then I would have missed out on one of my favorite #sapphfic books ever. 🌈📚

Day 13: When Death Blooms by @gemasterswrites.bsky.social (also the first in the duology, When Flowers Wilt, yes you must read both). If you like paranormal romantasy with a shadow mommy and a good balance of plot and spice, you will love them. And G has something darker coming in July… #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 12: The Measure by Nikki Erlick. A deep, thought provoking novel with a fascinating premise, really lovely characters, and a lot of introspection. The heart of the story is the human connection, and it left me feeling crushed and lifted in equal…well, measure. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 11: Unyielding by @javodvarka.com. It’s a phenomenal end to a phenomenal trilogy. All three are fun but moving, I adored the found family, the characters have depth and growth, and this one had my favorite relationships. There’s more in store for this universe, and I can’t wait. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 10: Ribbonwood by @rubylanders.bsky.social. I’ve read everything she’s written and loved it all, but Ribbonwood is something else. It has deep characters who are way more than they seem, a gorgeous love story, sexy spice, and women supporting women all the way through. Perfection. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 9: The Space Between Worlds by @micaiahjohnson.bsky.social. Fabulous worldbuilding, interesting premise, wonderful storytelling. Cara is a complex character, flawed but lovable, and there are surprising twists and turns. Highly recommend (+the sequel) if you enjoy dystopian sci-fi. #sapphfic 🌈📚

Day 8: On the Same Page by @authorhaleycass.bsky.social—and more specifically, the audiobook narrated by Lori Prince. This is my favorite of Haley’s books, and I love Lori’s narration. I swear if anyone ever said my name the way Lori’s Gianna says Riley’s, I would melt on the spot. #sapphfic 🌈📚
