Had a great time yesterday with the Wellington Conservation Board that I Co-Chair. We joined with Makara Model School when they were visited for the day by Capital Kiwi.

In positive news, Kaipo Olsen-Baker continues to demonstrate her class, as does Stacey Waaka. Georgia Ponsonby and Chryss Viliko good too.

If we can't make the final, would love to see Canada push England hard. They've seemed inevitable all tournament but then again they did last RWC too. Can Canada surprise them?

I think we're done, tīma. Needed to score first after halftime or at least to dominate for an extended period. 😭😭 Canada playing beautifully

This is starting to feel not good eh. Canada just playing at will, we're having to work a lot harder to get anything going. Too many handling errors from us too.

TANYA KALOUNIVALE! Great chase from Waaka on the kickoff, Viliko and Ponsonby beautiful work and a quality finish in the tight. That's more like it!

Ooph. Canada with some great recycling, and a better kicking game, well on top early. Still plenty of time though!

Currently making fun dream plans to go to Australia in 2029 to follow the Black Ferns around at the next world cup. Hopefully whatever I'm doing at the time I can take the time off and afford it.

Ahiahi mārie Kāpiti, today's a great day to vote to keep our Māori Ward on Kāpiti Coast District Council and Māori Constituency on Greater Wellington Regional Council. Remember to tick both boxes when you fill out your voting papers - the GWRC box is on the back page!

Got to say the Springbok Women showed a hell of a lot, especially in the first half. If they can get proper investment and high quality opposition to test themselves against over the next four years they'll be a real threat at the next world cup.

Even if you don't vote for your council (pls do but), tick that box for the referendum. It is BINDING for three terms - so if it fails, no Māori ward for nearly a decade. And EVERYONE votes, not just Māori. Tāngata Tiriti step up, Pākehā mā, you need to vote.

to my mind the woman who dies of sepsis because of antiabortion laws, or the person who dies because they can't afford insulin -- these are just as much victims of political violence as the man shot through the throat while making a racist speech

We dominate the first 65 mins. Hold out another 20 under pressure. Give up a goal with 4 mins to go. Gutted.

An instrumental version of the anthem just got played at the All Whites vs the Socceroos, and every player sung it in Te Reo Māori only, no English verses. Wonder if Dame Hinewehi Mohi ever thought we'd see that.

My wife is getting discharged from hospital today and I can't speak highly enough of the nurses there - the quality of their care and their support of her. Having worked in the health system, I've seen first hand how nurses go above and beyond every single day.

In a guest lecture for my Masters via Zoom with someone from Scotland who works in England, to the best of my knowledge has never been to NZ, and she's opened her lecture in Te Reo Māori and has read up on te ao Māori perspectives because she knew she'd be speaking with us.

This is an absolute disgrace. The Public Service Act imposes duties of stewardship on chief executives, and the job of the service is to be effective as well as efficient. How can you know if this is happening if you don’t evaluate the effects of restructuring?

Tried Breakfast in Bread at The Waterfront for lunch. It surprised me - I thought it would be really dense and meaty tasting but it was actually quite delicate and light. All the flavours able to be tasted individually rather than as one big mess.
