It worked! Had a very-rare-but-very-fixable thing go wrong the first night so went back into the surgery room the next morning, all going well since then. My eyesight is already better than it was with glasses before surgery and it's still improving! This is amazing.

In 20 minutes, I'll have lasers shot at my eyeballs and for the first time since I was 4, 37 years ago, I won't need glasses anymore! Modern technology means 5 years from now, my night vision won't deteriorate to a point where I can't drive safely anymore. That's pretty great!

I dropped out of high school age 15 and my highest qualification is still School Certificate (NCEA level 1 equivalent). In 5 months though, I'll have a Masters degree and in the meantime I've worked big jobs leading dozens of people on some of the Government's biggest challenges.

I love the future

Smoked my first ever brisket yesterday and overnight, real happy with how it turned out. Today I've baked two vanilla sponges - one for an apricot sponge cake, the other currently soaking in Chambord for a trifle, and I've got twice cooked crispy roast potatoes in the oven now.
