Went to see Back to the Future on the big screen for the 40th anniversary, there was a Delorean parked outside and I got to sit in it. Incredible!

It's frustrating how in the Tina from Turner's ad she sings "Paekākāriki" while standing in front of the giant L&P bottle which is clearly in Paeroa, nowhere near Paekākāriki. It's the only town name she sings where she's not in front of something in that town, I don't understand

Kāpiti Coast District Council has increased our election turnout compared to 2022. Last election we got 45.8%, this time we're already at 45.7% before specials have been added to the count.

A now-dead ex MP used to message me on here nearly every time we passed each other on these travelators when I worked there, sometimes making unwanted 'bear' references. He was an odd one.

When I was 16 my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer - 3 months later she died. It was an awful thing to go through, but one that too many rangatahi in Aotearoa face.

I am so done with this bullshit. NZ First mingled with a crowd who set fire to the grounds of parliament. The Greens marched with a hīkoi that did not leave a scrap of litter on those same grounds.

Took part in Hīkoi mō te Pōti today with Embracing Te Tiriti Kāpiti, from Raumati Beach to drop off our voting papers at Paraparaumu Library. So much support from tooting cars along the way, don't forget to fill out your voting papers and say YES to keeping Māori wards!

Some history for us all to be proud of - a timely story to retell with the upcoming Rā Whakamana, a national day of action on 28 October called jointly by iwi and unions.

The forgotten union green ban that defended Bastion Point
In the late 1970s, workers joined Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to stop luxury housing at Takaparawhau – a landmark alliance of unions, Māori and environmentalists.

Today's been a fun day to be the one weirdo who's allergic to paracetamol. Everyone else should keep taking it when they need it though, including when pregnant. Just not me.

Surely this is copyright infringement from David Lee in his logo here - but I doubt any of the owners of that logo care to take action.

In positive news, Kaipo Olsen-Baker continues to demonstrate her class, as does Stacey Waaka. Georgia Ponsonby and Chryss Viliko good too.

If we can't make the final, would love to see Canada push England hard. They've seemed inevitable all tournament but then again they did last RWC too. Can Canada surprise them?

This is starting to feel not good eh. Canada just playing at will, we're having to work a lot harder to get anything going. Too many handling errors from us too.

Ahiahi mārie Kāpiti, today's a great day to vote to keep our Māori Ward on Kāpiti Coast District Council and Māori Constituency on Greater Wellington Regional Council. Remember to tick both boxes when you fill out your voting papers - the GWRC box is on the back page!

Got to say the Springbok Women showed a hell of a lot, especially in the first half. If they can get proper investment and high quality opposition to test themselves against over the next four years they'll be a real threat at the next world cup.

Even if you don't vote for your council (pls do but), tick that box for the referendum. It is BINDING for three terms - so if it fails, no Māori ward for nearly a decade. And EVERYONE votes, not just Māori. Tāngata Tiriti step up, Pākehā mā, you need to vote.

to my mind the woman who dies of sepsis because of antiabortion laws, or the person who dies because they can't afford insulin -- these are just as much victims of political violence as the man shot through the throat while making a racist speech
