Hung out with a kekeno down at Waikanae Beach this morning

Had a great time yesterday with the Wellington Conservation Board that I Co-Chair. We joined with Makara Model School when they were visited for the day by Capital Kiwi.

That triangular shadow above the horizon is Taranaki, as seen from my house in Waikanae Beach. So cool.

3/4 playoff is 11.30pm kickoff on Saturday, team. Easier time for us to watch than the final at least

In positive news, Kaipo Olsen-Baker continues to demonstrate her class, as does Stacey Waaka. Georgia Ponsonby and Chryss Viliko good too.

If we can't make the final, would love to see Canada push England hard. They've seemed inevitable all tournament but then again they did last RWC too. Can Canada surprise them?

Got to say the Springbok Women showed a hell of a lot, especially in the first half. If they can get proper investment and high quality opposition to test themselves against over the next four years they'll be a real threat at the next world cup.

Even if you don't vote for your council (pls do but), tick that box for the referendum. It is BINDING for three terms - so if it fails, no Māori ward for nearly a decade. And EVERYONE votes, not just Māori. Tāngata Tiriti step up, Pākehā mā, you need to vote.

My wife is getting discharged from hospital today and I can't speak highly enough of the nurses there - the quality of their care and their support of her. Having worked in the health system, I've seen first hand how nurses go above and beyond every single day.

In a guest lecture for my Masters via Zoom with someone from Scotland who works in England, to the best of my knowledge has never been to NZ, and she's opened her lecture in Te Reo Māori and has read up on te ao Māori perspectives because she knew she'd be speaking with us.
