in 10 years i have never made a consistent income from this work and i am tired of designers from huge companies moodboarding and parasitising my designs while i struggle to make a living.

i don't have the resources nor the energy to spare to pursue this legally but i have lost count of the number of times a major company has deemed it easier to pay a designer to imitate or steal my work than to write me an email.

bungie is of course not obligated to hire me when making a game that draws overwhelmingly from the same design language i have refined for the last decade, but clearly my work was good enough to pillage for ideas and plaster all over their game without pay or attribution.

Mixing advice that is probably rudimentary but immediately fixed my mixes: For loudness-war genres, run a clipper instead of a limiter on your master I'm so serious rn trust me if you gain stage right it's so much cleaner and more powerful

a funny side effect of serum 2 having the upward compression in the ott off by default is that people are going to make more sounds that I want to hear until they figure it out.

ok so btw everyone Serum 2 defaults to having the master at -8 dB, which messed up my workflow so if you want to fix that: Initialize your serum, turn the master volume knob in the top right to 0.0 dB (about 70% iirc), save as default preset this got me running circles with my distortion steve

Electronic music production tip: If you pan your kick drum all the way to one side and the bass all the way to the other, both of those elements will have enough space to be clearly heard in your mix, which will make your track sound more professional.
