For a long time, Unity's business model was to charge developers to remove the engine's logo from their game's splash screen, as it had an image of cheapness and amateurism. Very nice to see them embrace being the Slop Engine™.

This is "Echec & Masque" ("Checkmask"), the game we made last weekend during the Global Game Jam. We chose to do a puzzle tactical version of chess, with black and white pixel art graphics. Very fun game to work on and I'm very proud of the result! #gamedev #indiegame #indiedev

Another awful move by Adobe to add the ever growing pile. Animate is used in many fields, video games being one of them. It's the cornerstone of many people's process, an irreplaceable piece of software. And in a month, it goes away, for litteraly no reason. Despicable.

Sometimes I look at stuff from my old game project "Cantor Metz" and wonder why I canceled it. Then I remember how long it took to make so little... I learned a lot about 3D and I'm still proud of that environment work, but yeah, making a semi-realistic 3D game on my own was a bad idea. #gamedev

I did end up getting key rebinding to work, not thanks to the Unity doc. I used the good old "randomly find a video that describes exactly what you're after" stategy. Ol' reliable.

Woke up full of energy this morning, until I remembered I was working on input rebinding in Unity yesterday, and now my day is ruined.

Not long after the Nyx drawing I attempted another one in the same style to celebrate FFXIV's new (at the time) Reaper job. Never finished it sadly, I didn't like where it was going.

Old drawing (2020 I believe) of Nyx from Hades. I'm still proud of this one! The @nicodelort.bsky.social inspiration is obvious, it's fun trying a different rendering style... :)

I don't have much to post about Fakutori, I've just been doing code stuff lately. Have some wakas.

This is what I did during my holidays: Fakutori now has an "undo" button in edit mode! Good old Ctrl+Z, how we missed you! The most requested feature by far, and a huge QoL upgrade. I predict this will be the biggest pain point once playtests start... #gamedev #indiegame #indiedev

The problem with finding a new hobby when you're a white man in your 30's is that there is always this deep, existential urge to start a podcast about it. I've learned to fight it but I'm always at the cusp of succumbing to it.

I'm back at my place now. What did I post about before dedicating my life to puzzles? Video games? Feels like it was a lifetime ago.

Last puzzle completed before going home. It was fine, lots of samy bubbles. I give this one a 3/5.

Another puzzle completed! Every part of it has a different style, which made it much easier to complete. Definitely the most enjoyable puzzle I've ever done (I did 2).

New job unlocked: gardener/pikeman hybrid
