A lot of ML tools help you implement. Not many help you think. When I’m exploring a new research direction, I don’t want another search engine or citation graph. I want something that’s actually read the literature, can suggest promising directions, and helps me reason through tradeoffs.

Not necessarily the prettiest demo, but Fabric now supports render to texture passes for post processing a scene with another scene. Here a super shape is rendered as an image on a PBR Cube.

Some node execution optimizations and now things are pretty snappy.

Vacation vibe coding a QC Replacement Fabric, based of off @rezaali.bsky.social’s awesome Satin Pro metal engine. PBR materials, geometry, scene graph, shadows, lighting and animation seems to be working. Lot to do. Lot of fun already.

Fuck it. It’s time for a new Quartz Composer replacement courtesy Satin as the engine. I can’t stand other modern node based visual tools for various reasons and I’m missing fucking around.

We've recently adapted a bunch of the v002 QC FX from @vade.info to ISF shaders since Quartz Composer is deprecated. Here's a little tutorial on how the GLSL shader from 'v002 Glitch Analog' was translated to use with VDMX and other apps that support ISF.

A bit of work on v - optimizing rendering and concurrency with mild changes to Satin gets us 8x 4k video playback with mixing and effects at 120 fps (video processing and ui).
