Didn't expect to hear about Austrian Architect Alfred Loos here at #aarsbl25 in Boston. @juliansieber.bsky.social is giving a great critique of Loos' quite terrible article "Ornament and Crime" and his misinterpretation of Revelation's Heavenly Jerusalem.

After all the complaining on Thursday: my way back home is by Nightjet from Zurich to Vienna. The Nightjet was ready to board at the platform 30 minutes BEFORE departure!! I had already written 2 emails from my bed for the night before we even started moving! I love this!

Got to know Freiburg's delicacy "Lange Rote" today, took a stroll through the city, saw the Münster, had a drink at Alte Wache. And most importantly: got to spend quality time with the wonderful @annika-ynachten.bsky.social ❤️ long-distance-friendships are hard. Weekends like this make it worth it!

Made it to @uni-freiburg.de yesterday 20 minutes before my guest seminar started. Since then I've spent almost 10hrs with a group of very smart, kind and motivated students, discussing biblical texts, methods and hermeneutics around Gender sensitive exegesis. Definitely worth the train-chaos before❤️

Zu beruflichen Terminen Langstrecke mit dem Zug fahren geht halt einfach nicht. Irgendwann werd ich's auch lernen. Sollte ich es irgendwie pünktlich morgen nach Freiburg schaffen, werd ich auf alle Fälle komplett fertig und übernachtig sein. Perfekt für 6h unterrichten 🤦‍♀️ nächstes Mal gleich fliegen.

Today's lecture on New Testament Exegesis, Mary Magdalene in the Gospels and in Reception History took place at the Kunsthistorische Museum Wien. What a joy to see my students explore the paintings and discuss and share about them. Teaching can be really wonderful.

Teaching on Mary Magdalene in fine arts today - and basically reading to my students from @siobhanjolley.bsky.social 's book, "Reimagining the Magdalene". What a joy to put what I read in my own (German) words and telling all my students to read her book to learn more!
