Good morning from Manila - it’s been a rough week here in the Philippines. Mark Thomas & I intercepted the eyes of typhoons Toraji & Usagi and are now awaiting typhoon Man-yi. It’s a powerful cat 4 and expected to strengthen further and make landfall in next day or so (depending on track)

The ominous Super Typhoon #Kong-Rey (Category-4-equivalent) is closing in on #Taiwan... landfall <1 day away now. Again, the latest Category 2+ landfall on the island was Krosa on October 6, 2007, so this is absolutely remarkable. bmcnoldy.earth.miami.edu/tropics/radar/ @earthuncuttv.bsky.social
