Someone fired a firework at our beautiful Indian neighbour this evening. It hit him in the back but could have been more serious if it hit him in the face. He was 'shook'. He was walking along our street, minding his own business. The rest of us need to step up and stand against this 'casual' racism

Those who base their values on hate, can only see hate; it draws them in. Everywhere there is someone to hate. Those who base their values on empathy, observe everything; reaching out, they experience all there is. Hate begets hate. Empathy leads to understanding.

On the way back from the bar, it lashed rain, torrential rain, we got drowned, like drowned rats, had to strip off fully when we got home, but we laughed like young fools all the way home. Life is there - live it. :-)

I’m as far from Charlie Kirk’s beliefs as it gets. But if you’re cheering his death, you’re part of the problem. Real change isn’t far left or far right - it’s in the fucking middle, where we build bridges, not barricades. That’s where compassion lives and where progress stands a chance.

Yesterday, the sky wore summer clothes. Today, autumn made a quiet entrance. A sudden shower saw us seek refuge under an old chestnut tree, its orange & red leaves, gliding, falling. We gathered glossy chestnuts - like kids again. The years pass, but some moments stay timeless.

In the coffeeshop and overheard a woman thanking Niamh, the barista for the lovely coffee. It's the first time in years she could go for coffee as she minding her mum, who had dementia. But her mum has now got a carer & this gives her some free time. Sometimes, coffee is more than just coffee. #life

You spent €12 on a roll of Kodak Gold 200, 120 film. Pop it into your newly acquired Mamiya 645, carefully expose the 15 frames, fingers crossed + hope for the best, pay over €28 for development + €5 postage - and then, An Post go + lose the fucking package. Grrr!

I always thought that as I got older, there would be lots of cool clothes shops catering for the edgy & alternative. But I was wrong. The world is now more conservative than it ever was. What has happened to individuality, creativity & just being yourself? Don't answer that question, it's rhetorical
