TOMORROW: UFT Assistant Secretary Michael Sill will speak before state lawmakers about the governor’s proposed education budget and what it means for New York’s students, educators and families. The hearing will be livestreamed on the Senate and Assembly websites and on The Legislative Channel.

The AFL-CIO called for a vigil to honor Minneapolis VA nurse Alex Pretti and asked labor unions to lend their support. The UFT executive board, composed of members representing nurses and educators, passed a resolution to stand with fellow unions and support the vigil on Thursday, Jan. 29.
