The student protest movement that started in Serbia is spreading. Students in Bosnia and Montenegro also held rallies today. The common thread: anger over corruption and official impunity. A short 🧵 \1

For the past two months, with very limited attention by international media, and while the EU remains largely silent, university students in Serbia have been leading a nationwide, bottom-up, anti- corruption movement frontally challenging the authoritarian government.

An incredibly disappointing day for @tilburg-university.bsky.social as the University Board ignores its own experts, who advised that TiU suspend ties with Israeli partner universities due to the heightened risk of their participation in HR violations and failure to ensure academic freedom.
