Only Congress has the constitutional power to authorize war. Yet, the Trump administration is once again taking unilateral and reckless military action against Iran, putting both servicemembers and civilians in danger. This is unconstitutional.

Congress must return immediately and vote to put an end to this war. Every Senator should be on the record—the American people deserve to know which of their leaders supports another potentially bloody and costly war in the Middle East. No war with Iran.

Trump in 2011: “Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate. He’s weak and he’s ineffective.”

Trump is VERY clearly looking for claims of foreign interference to serve as a basis to declare a national emergency and usurp control of the election. This is how he's going to try and do it. Trump is nothing if not self-interested; he's doing this to help himself and consolidate his grip on power.

Just days ago, we found out that Trump is circulating an executive order claiming that China interfered in the 2020 election as a pretext to declare a national emergency and ultimately to declare extraordinary presidential powers over voting.

“President Trump's decision to bomb Iran is indefensible. This was not about preempting an imminent threat—it was a strategically misguided power play, with no discernible endgame,” Cato Institute’s Jon Hoffman says.

Republicans’ only policy is destruction. Say “Republicans.” They voted for this. They could stop this destruction at any time.

Remember when Congress authorized the use of force against Iran? Me neither. Any U.S. attack on Iran would violate U.S. and international law.

In any other timeline with any other leader, this blockbuster research would be grounds for impeachment & removal. His racist, unconstitutional policies are killing Americans and our economy. But, it’s still not a red line for the GOP. Talk about being on the wrong side of history.

Here’s the truth: Trump made the largest cut to Medicaid in history and ripped health care away from millions of Americans to gave tax cuts to billionaires. He’s not helping working families. He’s Robin Hood in reverse.

After pointing at Democrats and saying they are "crazy," Trump says, "We’re lucky we have a country, with people like this. Democrats are destroying our country, but we stopped it, just in the nick of time." Just insanely destructive. Indefensible — but Republicans stood and clapped.

This, from the lawyer who successfully argued the tariff case before SCOTUS, casts huge doubt over the applicability of the statute the @POTUS is relying on to slap down a new 15 percent global tariff. His own lawyers dismissed it in their arguments to the court.

One thing to understand is that jackasses like me graduated from law school basically believing that, while nothing like <all this> was realistic in our lifetimes, if it did happen, then our Supreme Court with all its flaws would respond roughly like this judge did, maybe 9-0.
