This is the moment where I found Day of the Dead after a two year search. Being in film restoration, I really wish I hadn’t started going full Neil Peart with my arms around the film.

Right after seeing LIFEFORCE in 70mm at the Academy Museum, we blasted over to Hollywood to catch CLOSE ENCOUNTERS in 70mm at The Egyptian! Two completely different sci-fi films that, surprisingly, make a fun double feature!

First time seeing one of my favorites on the big screen! Thank you, Academy Museum!

I was surprised by how much I liked this! No CGI-nightmare battles every 15 minutes, it focused on the family aspect of the team, there are no cameo team-ups, and for having such high stakes it manages to feel small and intimate. Basically, it felt like a proper movie. More of this, please!

After a two year search, I finally found the long-missing elements for George A. Romero’s “Day of the Dead”. I cannot express the joy I felt when I placed the magnifier over the table and saw the first frame. That joy was for George Romero’s legacy and his sea of fans around the world.

This was an amazing birthday and I can’t thank my friends enough for making me feel so special. 😃

Jurassic World: Rebirth is a ton of fun and practically a straight up horror movie at times. If you can get through the dull as hell first 20 minutes and also accept that Scarlett Johansson is supposed to be a badass mercenary (she eventually wins you over on that front), you’ll have a good time.

I spent the 4th of July celebrating homemade chili dogs, showing my girlfriend Better Off Dead for the first time, watching 58 year old Noel Gallagher belt the holy living shit out of Acquiesce live, and then watching two raccoons, who had enough, chase two M-80 spewing teens off of my block.

LA Mayor Karen Bass is trying to playing both sides… She says that she supports the ICE/Trump protestors but then does and says nothing when the LAPD so very clearly instigates violence against them. She has the power to tell them to stop. We have the power to vote her out.

The cops are 100% the villains. It’s crystal clear and any news organization saying otherwise is lying.

Investigations are now underway into officers and ICE agents who fired crowd-control munitions at dangerously close range. In case after case, the situation only escalated when force was used against peaceful protesters.

It is going to take about two generations for this city to ever trust the LAPD again. The protestor that helped this woman is a national hero.

It's blowing my mind that I was sitting next to Nathan Fielder in a movie theater just a few days before he performed The Miracle Over The Mojave. To be that close to a true American (Canadian) hero has filled me with inspiration and hope for humanity as a whole.

I finished the season finale of The Rehearsal about two hours ago and I’m still sitting here with my jaw on the ground. It may just be the best episode of television ever filmed.

This film is a lot better than the loud franchise guardians led you to believe at the time. Yeah, it was a massive risk adding Khan and maybe not the best choice but it’s still a rip-roaring great time that manages to keep things personal and emotional on a character-level. I miss this crew.
