🚨 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞! 🚨 The Home Office is proposing to remove local authority autonomy over age assessments, and although the proposals are in its early stages, the potential implications for safeguarding, children’s rights and social work practice are too serious to wait and see what happens.

Please read this post from
@ecpatuk.bsky.social
about how the Govt's plans to facilitate more removals from the UK could impact children in care. ❗This is very important for social workers. We strongly recommend that SWs working with children in care & care-leavers engage with the consultation.❗

Yesterday 100s of people from across the UK came together in Parliament to meet with their MPs about the Govt.'s disastrous earned settlement plans. Together, we shared our concerns directly with 80+ MPs. A massive thank you to everyone who joined & helped make it happen. This is just the start.

Tomorrow, we will be travelling to Westminster to join over 300 people for the Mass Lobby for Migrant Rights. We are deeply concerned about the impact of the Government's plans to introduce an "earned settlement" immigration system. 1/
