A cool addition to my collection: These are Ant Hill Garnets. They are Pyrope Garnets which are magnesium aluminum garnets, which gives them the deep red. THE COOL THING: these are collected by Southwestern Harvester Ants that bring them up from underground while they're digging their nests.

Rock Looked Way Cooler Wet

Man I'm just feeling a little depressed because I feel like I've been quietly demoted in my job. It's hard to feel motivated to do anything.

This is Vivianite, the corpse crystal 💀 It can sometimes be found growing on buried bodies in wet areas. The phosphate has a reaction with iron and water in the decay process creating the crystal. It oxidizes over time, starting green and turning into a deep blue-green, used to make pigments!
