Every small business owner knows the truth: You don’t need millions. You just need the right 200 people. Games, gyms, newsletters — it’s all the same.

“Building an audience” sounds abstract until you realise: It’s just the same as building a local community. Show up consistently. Deliver something good. Word spreads.

Steam reviews. Google reviews. Same principle. People decide whether to trust you in 5 seconds based on what others say.

Every gamer has a “comfort game.” Not the best graphics. Not the deepest systems. Just the one you keep coming back to when life gets loud. Mine is Pokemon Leafgreen 🍀

Online play is fine. But nothing beats the chaos of 4 people crammed on a couch, trash-talking each other over Mario Kart.

Something I’ve realised about Indieformer: the readers aren’t just curious. They actually buy.

I built Indieformer around the idea of "search less, play more." Steam, itch, Twitter — it’s too much. Nobody has time to wade through thousands of releases. I pick the ones I’d personally buy, and put them in one place. If you follow, I hope you've found at least one game you're interested in!

One of the coolest parts about running Indieformer is seeing how it connects both sides. Devs get a little more visibility. Players get games they can actually trust are worth a shot. That middle ground creates momentum — wishlists, sales, discovery.

Some of my favourite games in Indieformer have been ones I’d never seen mentioned anywhere else.

People sometimes ask how I pick what goes in Indieformer. It’s not complicated: – Does it have a clear hook? – Does it look like it’s made with care? – Am I at the point where I’d buy it myself? If it’s a yes, it makes the cut. If not, I move on.

The first game you ever played isn’t just nostalgia. It’s part of your DNA. It taught you patience, problem-solving, resilience, or maybe just how to laugh when you lost. What was yours?

There's a new Frontline issue dropping in 24 hours with @monstertheater.bsky.social, and this thumbnail definitely stretched my graphic design abilities 😅 I created a few extra custom letters from the logo file I had, then tried to make it all 3D and add gradients. Not perfect, but close enough!

This video is worth a watch for people considering indie dev and want to see the high level of one possible project route. I feel like this a realistic assessment of a kickstarted indie studio project. It’s only a 10-min watch and goes more in-depth in another video.
