Been at a horse show all day helping with this filly and while it's been fun and interesting (I've only shown open, QRT or Half-Arabian)... all I can think about is sewing. 😂🫠💀 This week has robbed me of any crafting and I'm over it LOL. You know it's bad when gorgeous horses can't distract me.

I'm making a giant leaf saddle pad for a costume event for my horse, Mo. Yesterday I got the shell dyed. It's unfortunate that this fabric didn't really gradient dye the way I expected, but it's still pretty and looks enough like a leaf lol. Can't wait to do my bias tape trim and details.

Vibrating as I wait for fabric swatches to come in. Looking forward to updating my Gerudo lady so much. On another note I'm thinking of my chimera!Falin armor design and I honestly need to consider how to elevate the design. It needs more detail work for possible comp entry.

If anyone is interested in my Gerudo build book, here it is! I'm still new to making these and I know there's improvements to be had (and that the final page is unconventional) but I think it's important to share and learn from each other! Critiques are welcome!

One critic I got at the RCCC comp was about my fabric choice for the pants and top (though the judges understood it was hard to find this color). I forgot to ask what they would recommend instead! Friends said linen or cotton mix, but I wanted to see if anyone here had some recommendations as well.

On a positive note, RCCC was a wonderful time, probably the most fun I've ever had at a con since getting back into the hobby. The city and its citizens sucks but the nerds were lovely. Got to hang with a Dungeon Meshi group for a bit, and my Gerudo lady got a lot more love than expected.

One of my biggest struggles as a cosplayer is proportions. I always forget to track down the one tool folks used to recommend that could let you add sizes via lines to an image and it would help compare and tell you the difference (does that make sense?). I haven't been able to find it.
