Everyone told me how easy it was to see Roadrunners in Arizona, yet I’d always struggled. This visit three were wandering around the car park just outside my hotel! Beep! Beep!

Great Grey Shrike was showing very well this lunchtime in hedgerows just south of Fillingham, near Lincoln. An accompanying chorus of Grey Partridge was also welcome!

Spot the Snow Goose! Took a good 40mins this morning to find the bird out amongst the Whoopers at Welland Bank, Deeping St James. At least half a dozen Bewick’s had joined them. Good days birding!

A chilly day in west Ardnamurchan. Relatively quiet on the bird front. The Greylag flock held a lone Pink-foot. Highlight was a Jackdaw - these are pretty scarce here and this will be one of only a handful I’ve seen here in 20 yrs.

A lovely evening across Kilchoan’s salt marsh, a rare habitat on Ardnamurchan. Today’s waders included Whimbrel, Curlew, Dunlin, Red-& Greenshank, Ringed Plover & Oyks.

We’ve at least helped the situation a little bit by removing this fully rammed carrier bag of plastic waste …but there are still tons out there needing to be collected.

I’m totally shocked & embarrassed at the amount of plastic waste on this remote west Highland beach where, just 100m away, 50+ Common Seals bask on their rocky islet.

Imm Glaucous Gull off Gore Point, Old Hunstanton, this afternoon plus a flurry of Snow Buntings against the dunes. Couldn’t locate the Shore Larks.
