Power and ultimate control. Canceling late-night shows. Silencing the press. Threats of war against U.S. cities. Using force against peaceful protesters and journalists. Now Trump is demanding Bondi prosecute his political opponent.

People convince themselves they’ll be immune to the crackdown. But the truth of hate campaigns is this: no one is safe. Sooner or later, the monster comes for us all.

Using war terms against your own citizens isn’t just reckless it’s the fuel behind the escalation tearing through the country. But Americans don’t take threats against their home lightly, no matter who makes them.

Whether danger comes from overseas or from within, we are a proud people who will defend this country against all threats. Congress bows its head while the President uses war rehtoric on U.S. cities. That will be remembered.

A campaign of hate and domination is so unnatural it collapses under its own weight. The harder they push, the stronger the resistance grows. Every act of defiance pushes us forward, and every day more people are making good trouble.

More than anything else, I object to this president stealing our time and attention. We can’t even have a Sunday morning without hearing about some insane thing he said and wondering if that insane thing will become real because he’s insane.
