Sturgill Simpson fucking rules. There isn't much to be hopeful about these days, but knowing that his decision not to stream his album, physical release only, and then scoring a top Billboard placement is a real joy.

Struck me today that I've never kept a band name/moniker around long enough to have this many songs before. It's kinda fun to have a butt load of songs to choose from.

I’m generally a big fan of the Peter Jackson LOTR/Hobbit films, but imagine how awesome it would’ve been if Terry Gilliam tried making them in the late 80s?

Okay I realize this band is all I talk about these days (finding joy) but I'm really trying to think of an album that has a better drum sound than Mothership Connection by Parliament. The whole production is otherworldly levels of crisp, but THAT snare is undeniable.

Had never listened to Funkadelic’s first record ‘Free Your Mind … And Your Ass Will Follow.’ Bought a copy and it’s kinda blowing my mind. They were basically doing everything CAN was doing but here in the States. Also read George Clinton was obsessed with The MC5. Goddamn, this is it.
