And as for the "games that got a lot of praise but I don't get why", that would be Blue Prince for me. Yes, the game on paper sounds super clever, but in practice t's RNG hell. And I love puzzle games, and I can enjoy roguelikes, so it's not a "not my genre" issue.

I could also make a list of games that I found disappointing this year, but this one's easy: Monster Hunter Wilds is at the top for sure. Having played and loved this series since the first one on PS2, Wilds...misses a lot of what I've loved about these games for years :(

I was gonna make a list of all my favorite games this year, but there were far too many, and many were kind of the obvious ones most people know of already. Clair Obscur was definitely my favorite though. But I already liked melancholic artsy French stuff before it was cool :P

Also, I bought the Switch 2 just so I could play it at its best. Definitely wasn't worth it, but hey: at least I can finally play Bananza as well ^^

Finished Metroid Prime 4, and yeah, I kinda agree with the general consensus: it's a good game judged by its own merits, but compared to the rest of the series there's definitely been some odd choices. And the final boss was really annoying.
