🌱There is apparently no normal anymore, after two dry weeks of 30+ degrees it’s been cold with torrential downpours, wind and hail, the flowers are resisting better than the vegetables.

I may sound mean but I am genuinely excited by the prospect of the World Cup being an unmitigated disaster because it will highlight both the corruption of FIFA and the state of the US’s organisational skills

It’s fascinating how we are talked into confusion. Take climate change for example. Climate already changed. We are now trying to survive by using infrastructure that was built for a climate that no longer exists. But there’re still debates on whether climate change is real. Fascinating.

Brilliant from Olga Tokarczuk, feeling sorry for people who only speak English as they have no private realm to retreat to, where they can speak among themselves without being overheard. “I heard there were plans in the works to get them some little language of their own, one of those dead ones.”

While the world’s eyes are on fashion’s biggest night, we’re turning ours to the garment, retail, and warehouse workers who keep the industry running. From true love found on the picket line to a free tailoring school out of a Brooklyn basement — meet the New Yorkers who make it all possible.
