This is such an important point. Anyone can make reports to VAERS about any incident or event possibly related to a vaccine. These reports must then be studied and evaluated, which takes time, money and scientific knowledge and skill.

This makes me so mad! I have depended on these recommendations for years to offer my patients quality, evidence based care. My colleagues who served on the USPSTF over the years were some of the smartest and wisest people in medicine.

NEW: In an unprecedented move, the NIH will soon disinvite dozens of scientists about to take positions on advisory councils that make final decisions on grant funding. NIH staff were told to select others aligned with the Trump administration and told to expect placements by political appointees.

The Hemophilus influenza vaccine was introduced in 1985. I was a Family Med resident from 83 to 86. I saw first hand the dramatic drop in sick, hospitalized babies. The residents I taught from 1990 onwards never knew what that was like. I fear they will see H. Flu sick babies again soon.

The FBI is trying to criminalize Habitat for Humanity for receiving climate grants from the EPA. Yes, the nonprofit that builds houses for low-income people. This clearly demonstrates just how absurd and extreme the Trump regime has become. It's targeted harassment.

For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 1%, it can collect $13. For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 0.1%, it can collect $26. Laying off 7,000 IRS employees (during tax season) isn't about efficiency. It's about making it easier for the rich to evade taxes.

I worked as a doctor in Africa in the late 80's. I saw children die of measles. I saw young pregnant women die of TB. I never thought I would see that happening in the US, almost 40 years later. Medically, we are so heading BACKWARDS in time.

RFK Jr was confirmed. There is a lesson here for the future. The only chance that science had to stop RFK was a public relations strategyâto mobilize enough of the public that people not paying attention to politics would learn that he is a disaster. Vaclev Havel on HOPE: Hope is an orientation of the heart and of the spirit; it transcends the world and is anchored somewhere beyond its horizons. Hope is not the same as joy that things are going well. Hope, indeed, is the ability to work for something because it is good and because it is just.
